The Hall Committee put on regular events (quizzes, ceilidh, carnival, food evenings etc) and it has regular weekly user-groups (scouts, art group, garden club, dog training, craft and chat, WI, book Club, Wine Circle etc). Everything is aimed at encouraging and protecting a sense of community.

The Cameron dog foundation is providing much needed veterinary care to local street dogs, we are holding regular free clinics, and working with local people to neuter dogs and vaccinate them, whilst educating people in the care of their animals. We provide a permanent home to those who are to old or sick to survive on the streets, and hope soon to open a full time vet clinic.

A Good Neighbourhood scheme helping in a range of activities those who are either permanently or temporarily unable to undertake aspects of everyday life. Principally providing transport for medical reasons, shopping and visiting, as well as assisting people with gardening, walking dogs, simple DIY, people sitting, paperwork and other similar tasks.

Provide care and treatment for unwanted Old English Sheepdogs and rehome to appropriate homes.Provide information and assistance to the public and other rescues and organisations on all matters relating to Old English Sheepdogs. Provide public information leaflets for rescue OES and for safety and child safety around all dogs.

The aims of the Friends of DKH are:-1. To develop more extended relationships and communication between the staff, parents and others associated with the school, including the local community;2. To engage in fundraising and provide activities, facilities or equipment that support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it.

We provide a wide range of activities at the young peoples centre and also are continuing to improve the centre to enable user groups to continue to adapt to the needs of the wider community in Haughton Green, Denton.Activities covered include various sports , Healthy Eating, ICT Training, Arts , dancing, Morris and disco, social skills, parents and tots groups, Dog training club.

The promotion, encouragement and training of guide dogs for the blind. Payments are made to the " Guide Dogs for the Blind " charity ref 209617. Applications from other charities will not be considered.

RESCUE AND WELFARE OF NEGLECTED, ILL-TREATED AND ABANDONED ANIMALS. OPERATION OF A RESCUE CENTRE FOR A VARIETY OF RODENTS, FELINES, EQUINES, REPTILES, FISH AND CANINES. PROVIDING MAINTENANCE, VETERINARY AND GENERAL HEALTH-CARE. RELIEVING THE PUBLIC OF THE STRESS OF CARING FOR ANIMALS THEY CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO KEEP. EDUCTING THE PUBLIC IN ANIMAL-WELFARE AND RELATED ISSUES.

To maintain the village hall by fundraising and put on events for the local community (eg bingo, skittles, quiz nights, dog training ). We also put on events to fund raise for other charities such as Air Ambulance, MacMillan, etc. The hall is also used by the Parish council and as a polling station

Castledon Greyhound Rescue provides a safe haven for retired racing and abandoned Greyhounds and actively seeks to find suitable homes to ensure the dogs can live out their full natural lives as domestic pets.

We organize events around South Somerset such as fetes, dog shows, 10k runs, etc. to raise funds so we can make donations to or pay for activities to the types of group or individuals listed. Our events also enable other groups to raise funds. We also offer manpower to help community activities e.g., car parking, marshalling events, etc.

Adopt a Bull Terrier Rescue are committed to making an impact on the rescue of dogs in difficult situations, in dogpounds or unwanted and those on death row and strive to ensure safe & loving homes are found for all those dogs thatcome into our care. AaBTR is run purely on a voluntary basis.

Rescue of SLED dogs

We raise funds for Canine Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) Research, wherever that is taking place worldwide, We create DM awareness and offer support for owners and dogs with DM.

TO ASSIST THE POLICE, MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAMS, OR ANY OTHER ORGANISATION INVOLVED IN THE SEARCH AND RESCUE OF PERSONS MISSING OR OVERDUE, IN SITUATIONS WHICH WILL BENEFIT FROM THE USE OF AIR-SCENTING OR TRAILING SEARCH DOGS, OPERATING PRIMARILY IN THE UPLAND AREAS OF ENGLAND.

To promote responsible breeding and ownership in order to prevent the need for rescue and reduce the stray, abandoned and rescue dog population. We will continue to offer shelter, care and attention to those animals in need. The first priority will be dogs, and we believe this model will be able to be adapted and applied to other companion animals and also horses.

For the benefit of the public/ local community we take in abandoned and unwanted dogs from the Yorkshire Coast Area, provide any necessary medical treatment and place them in kennels or foster homes until new homes are found.
