The Torch Trust for the Blind aims to overcome sight loss as a barrier to finding a personal faith in Christ and living a fulfilled Christian life. It provides Christian literature, fellowship and personal support to visually impaired people in the UK and around the world. This Charity is the original charity set up by Torch, all current activities are undertaken through charity number 1095904

PROVISION OF BOOKS PRINCIPALLY OF A RELIGIOUS CHARACTER TO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC THROUGHT THE CITY OF PLYMOUTHS LIBRARY SERVICE

The Charity provides financial assistance to young persons leaving school who make application to the Charity and who are going on to further education (i.e. University or Polytechnic) and who live within the Ancient Chapelry of Heptonstall. The award to assist them in purchase of books for their studies.

The Trustees manage Tisbury Reading Room - currently leased to Tisbury Parish Council. The Trustees lease this building, on a repair and maintenence basis, to the council to currently provide an office, information centre and meeting space for the local community.

PROMULGATION OF CHRISTIAN LITERATURE WORLDWIDE BY THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

The aims of the Charity are to help both adults and children with reading (literacy) diffculties and to aid them by supplying a suitable reading programme together iwth teaching help as required.

Currently operate a Saturday School, helping children age 5 years and upwards.We support the teaching of Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, SATs preparation and homework.We support teaching of Black History.We organise trips both educational and social.

Provide information & support to families who have a disabled child & to professionals working with disabled children.Offer 2 "drop-in" sessions each week for families & professionals, as well as offering extra sessions to groups of disabled children.

To describe and illustrate the historical development and distinctive nature of the New Forest through education, outreach services and a specialist reference library. Also to conserve and protect the character and amenities of the New Forest for public benefit.

The trust provides research-based information and advice on game species and game conservation using specialist publications and national events.
