Arts Charities That specialise in Media and publishing

Our charity holds meetings at its rooms for the reading of original papers, discussions and lectures, it holds an annual exhibition, field meetings and workshops. It publishes a journal and entomological text books. It makes available a library and collections of entomological specimens. These activities have the object of promoting, advancing and diffusing research in biological science.

Promote, facilitate, organise, participate in cultural, educational & other charitable activities for the benefit of Kannadigas resident in the UK and/or in India. Revitalise & revive the traditions of Karnataka among its members, the future generation & the local community who are interested in Indian culture. Educate them in Kannada Language, Literature, Art, Culture, Tradition & Music.

A- To promote and advance the study of family history and genealogy with particular reference to the county of Oxfordshire. B- To locate, preserve, publish where applicable and make available relevant documents and archival material. C- Hold regular meetings, produce three journals per year and attend other societies and organisations fairs.

The aims of Blandford Museum are to record, conserve and display all aspects of the prehistory and history of Blandford and the surrounding region, and to bring the records and displays to the attention of the public. Recording is accomplished by maintaining archives and library facilities and making these available to the public; display of Blandford history is managed by means of exhibitions.

Society for the preservation of old buildings, currently Nutley Windmill and a Medieval Wealden Hall House, Bridge Cottage in the south end of Uckfield High Street, and the production of publications and exhibitions to promote interest and appreciation of the local heritage.

MDT works with the community to deliver social, economic and cultural regeneration projects. MDT's main aim is to acquire the redundant Old Hospital and develop it as a town-centre community hub including an information centre, the Library, a museum and space for events. MDT currently runs Minehead Information Centre and employs a manager to support the town's economic regeneration strategy.

King Edward's Hall is a facility that is available for hire by either individuals, groups or institutions, for the purpose of private functions, indoor sport, public/private meetings, educational purposes and for use by Local authorities as a polling station etc.In addition the trustees organise a variety of events, including theatre, light entertainment, cinema, themed events

The charity supports children and education in and near Livingstone, Zambia, as well as the relief of poverty and distress. The focus is presently on the construction of school facilities for a school for vulnerable children. Other schools are also supported with the provision of books, computers etc. We have also helped two women's empowerment groups as well as homework club and pre school.

To further the understanding of the role and history of the Royal Air Force in peace and war through publications, seminars and educational and charitable grants.

The Society is the designated Neighbourhood Forum for the Dore Area, with responsibility for preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for Dore. The Society also aims to foster the protection and enhancement of the local environment, amenities and facilities within Dore, to encourage a spirit of community and to record its historic development.

State of Trust exists to promote the arts for the public benefit in particular, but not exclusively, the arts of dance and music, poetry, photography and film making.

The Baby Equipment Loan Service and Toy Library(BELS & TL)is based in Wallsend,but covers all of North Tyneside and surrounding areas.BELS & TL hires essential baby equipment to families on benefits or low income.The Project runs a Toy Library where children can loan two toys or games each month for an annual fee of £7.00.Project Support Workers facilitate various groups in different venues.

THE HALL IS CURRENTLY USED TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:SHORT MAT BOWLING, YOGA, COFFEE MORNINGS, ART CLUB, BEADWORK CLASSES, YOUNG FARMERS, CRAFTING, MOO MUSIC, BABY & TODDLER GROUP, GARDEN CLUB, FILM NIGHTS.IT IS AVAILABLE FOR MEETINGS, DANCES, FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES & PRIVATE HIRE THE PLAYING FIELD IS USED FOR SPORT, RECREATION AND GENERAL PLAYING AREA FOR CHILDREN

The charity publishes a Christian magazine - The Plain Truth - three times a year, which is circulated free to its subscribers. The magazine carries articles on everyday topics, from a Christian perspective. The charity also produces a monthly podcast which is free to download. The magazine is available in both print and a pdf (downloadable) version. The charity has also produced a free book.
