Arts Charities That specialise in Orchestra

The aim of the orchestra is the rehearsal and performance of all types of orchestral music in and around Sudbury by mainly local amateur musicians to the highest possible standard for each of our members. Our ages range from students to seniors and we welcome new members where we have vacancies.

The North Downs Community Orchestra is a fun, friendly amateur groups open to musicians in the North Downs Area. We do not ask for grades or hold auditions and aim to be welcoming, inclusive and affordable. Our purpose is to enjoy making music together. We strive to provide instrumental parts for all instruments and abilities and support members with musical development.

The British Friends of the Budapest Festival Orchestra supports the orchestra's performances and the BBC Proms and other performances in the U.K.

Amateur orchestra based in London, with strong civil service membership. Gives at least three concerts a year.

Our rehearsal and concerts aim to educate members and audiences in their knowledge and appreciation of classical music. No auditions are held. Activities: 2 concerts per year (November and April) using its choir and a professional orchestra and soloists. It is the only provider of live classical music in the borough and always provides specific information in its own extensive programme notes.

The orchestra meets regularly, every week during school term time, to give the opportunity for adults and children to play a musical instrument with others in an orchestral setting. Any person is welcome of any age and of any standard with any instrument. At least two concerts are given by the orchestra in a year. Concerts for charity have been given.

The Symphonic Wind Orchestra of North London is a community wind orchestra set up to encourage music making in the north London area. We perform three to four concerts a year in local venues.

The Farnborough Concert Orchestra specialises in playing popular and light classical music to the general public. We perform four themed concerts per year. We perform in local venues such as schools and churches. We have a membership of over 35 players and a professional conductor and leader.

Weekly (in term time) rehearsals leading to concerts twice or three times a year open to public.

The Ipswich Orchestral Society performs three concerts per year for the public. We invite international soloists for two of these. Our third concert (family concert) we taylor to attract a younger audience - our aim is to introduce children to the pleasure of music making via a lighter programme.

To support past and present members of the London Symphony Orchestra who are suffering hardship through illness, injury, or other reasons approved by the Trustees.

To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit, including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals. The orchestra is particularly keen to support up and coming young artists and help them enhance their careers.

The charity currently operates in the Bath area providing music sessions to young people to advance their musical education with a particular focus on those who are socially or economically disadvantaged.

The Society consists of an Orchestra and Chorus. Membership is open to all comers without audition. Members learn and rehearse music with the objective of providing four public concerts per year. The Orchestra invites all comers to an open rehearsal free of charge. Occasionally, the Chorus runs an open singing course. The Society supports local charities by performing carols at Christmas time.

The performance of concerts and related activities

Opera South East is a company based in Hastings, specialising in the performance of fully staged and costumed opera productions with orchestra. The company is administered by local enthusiasts and employs professional staff and singers to complement and direct its membership. In addition the company offers a year round programme of opera concerts in various venues in Kent and East Sussex.

To foster an appreciation of the art and science of music by the presentation of collaborative projects. The group endeavours to offer music rarely performed due to the scale required using very large groups of singers and orchestral players. Workshops, concerts and associated activities will be offered involving a wide spectrum of choral societies.

BSW is a symphonic wind orchestra that stages concerts for the general public in a variety of musical styles and commissions and presents new works where possible in order to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects.

Ffurfwyd y cor yn 2004 gyda'r bwriad i berfformio gwaith oratorio yn yr iaith yr ysgrifennwyd a ffurf (gyda gerddorfa). Mae 90 o aelodau ac mae'r berfformiadau yn cael eu gynnal ym mis Rhagfyr ac Ebrill. The choir was formed in 2004 with the aim to perform oratorio works in the original language and intended format (with orchestra). There are 90 members and concerts are in December and April.
