The object of the charity is to advance the education of children and young people in the area of benefit. Financial assistance is given to both Fowey Primary School & Fowey River Academy (previously Fowey Community College) and individual students under the age of 25 who qualify for awards in the form of annual bursaries and grants.

We run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. We also run a large programme of intergenerational events and activities, which bring together beneficiaries with local school-children and students. We provide free transport for anyone who needs it and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Learning for Life was established in 1993 as a reponse to the need for education, especially of girls, in South Asia. Harrys Pals provides emotional support to parents of children who are severely ill or disabled. This is through the provision of counselling services, respite breaks and support through an online community of parents. Harrys Pals also campaigns for change to improve life for carers and people affected by disability.
