We run a drop-in center where disadvantaged Angolan Portuguese-speaking with various forms of disabilities with their families who are our members and homeless people in Barnet can come and gain access to services, make friends and share their concerns. The Community Unity (Leeds) CIO current activities are delivering hampers and toys at Christmas, running community family parties (Halloween and Christmas) and providing weekly meals and support to vulnerable local people.

The Otherwise Club is a community centre for families choosing to educate their children out of school. It provides support, activities, sporting and drama events and outings as well as project groups that specialise in topics.

As a PTA we try to raise funds for the children at school for extra equipment that the school can not afford to buy. For example we have bought interactive whiteboards for all of the classrooms. Our main fund raising event is the Rose Queen in June, which we try to make fun for all of the family.

We support families bereaved due to violent crime in the Nottinghamshire and East Midlands area.Offering one to one peer support at our Nottingham and Nottinghamshire offices,working with families referred to us from FLO's,Victim Support and self referrals.We also engage in fighting serious crime including knife crime.

Donations received two days a week of money/food/toiletries come via local churches, clubs, individuals or direct to bank. The food bank supports individuals and families in poverty or times of crisis, who have been identified and referred to us by local agencies. Distribution takes place on Fridays. Our premises are available for local groups, with a Craft Club taking place each Monday 1 - 4 pm.
