We raise funds and support orphans families in different villages in Pemba - Zanzibar. Pege Children Foundation support impoverished children and orphans of Ghana to receive an education from primary through secondary schooling. We work closely with the schools to encourage and support each individual child. School fees are paid directly to the school to ensure continuity of education. The Almshouse Charity of Ann Darwin is responsible for 4 self contained, single storey, one bedroom "cottages" that occupy a single building in Elston Village. The terms of the charity states that they are for "poor persons of good character who reside in the Parish of Elston and the surrounding area with a preference being given to poor widows." They have recently been completely refurbished.
