The society organises ten lectures each year on the decorative and fine arts. It has a church recorders group whose researches produce records of the fabric and contents of churches for presentation. Volunteers assist museums and other institutions with the cataloguing and maintenance of heritage property. The society makes grants to support arts projects in the community.

St Oswald's PTFA raise funds through activities in school to which the pupils and their families can participate. Activities such as discos, sponsored events and pop up shops. In 2021 we also started applying for external grants to support internal fundraising activities. The Trust aims to provide grants to help aspiring professional organists. Preference will be given to students seeking assistance towards special projects, rather than continuing academic tuition. The Flentrop scholarship awarded annually allows a student to spend two weeks in Holland with Flentrop, organ builders. The ETT Annual Award funds a candidate in a project related to the organ.
