THE SOCIETY MEETS AND PRACTICES FROM SEPTEMBER TO MAY, PUTTING ON TWO CONCERTS EACH YEAR. ONE CONCERT IS IN EARLY DECEMBER AND THE OTHER IS IN MAY.

Working locally, nationally ,and Internationally as part of Rotary International, the club responds to needs in the community and further afield as the occasions arise. Recent monies have been raised for relief of famine in the Horn of Africa, mosquito nets for anti malarial use , the RNLI, water aid, A local Hospice and the RI ,end polio now campaign

The society advances the education of the public in the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of ornithology, birds and birds study. It promotes the study and protection of wild birds by means of meetings, informative talks, field outings, surveys and exhibitions. It co-operates in the formation and maintenance of nature reserves.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ("THE OBJECTS") ARE TO MAINTAIN THE COLLECTION OF THE WORKS OF ART PRODUCED BY THE ARTIST ZSUZSI ROBOZ AND TO ORGANISE REGULAR EXHIBITIONS ACROSS ENGLAND AND WALES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY WAY OF INCREASING THEIR KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF ANY MATTERS OF ARTISTIC INTEREST.

The object of the band shall be to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of brass, percussion and wind music in all its aspects by the provision of training , practical advice & support including loan of musical instruments, the presentation of public concerts.

Promotes good horticultural practice in and around Oakham. A pool of volunteers undertake horticultural projects in public spaces in the Town. Gives advice and help to schools and other community groups on gardening clubs etc. Leads the Towns entry in to the regional In Bloom competitions as well as the national In Bloom campaign organised by the Royal Horticultural Society

The Group admits young people (aged 6 to 14) to membership, and is subject to the policy and rules of the Scout Association. The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities.

To offer outdoor activities to children/ teenagers aged 6 upwards in line with the Scouting Policy.
