Built on the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy, Sea Cadet training focuses on water sports and seamanship (carried out on a local river, the sea, adjacent naval establishments) and soldiering skills for Royal Marine Cadets. Cadets can also take national awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh or even attain accredited qualifications in navigation, communication and management.

Firmitude exists to advance the amateur sport of women's football and other sports capable of improving physical and mental health for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of facilities and opportunities to participate in these sports; and to promote community participation in healthy recreation.

To advance the education provided at the Purbeck School by raising funds and giving grants to:a. provide better facilities and equipment at the Schoolb. enable all students to benefit from an advanced range of educational, cultural and sporting activities and facilities on an equal basisc. to enable the School to promote the facilities available in the school to the local community

The charity organises training to enable anyone, regardless of age, ability or experience, to gain the skills that will enable them to confidently and responsibly explore the past. This is achieved by running a series of weekend training courses on all practical aspects of archaeology from carrying out geophysical surveys to interpreting finds. In addition the charity runs a training excavation.

To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the Cranborne Chase AONB landscape by inspiring everyone with an interest in this special landscape to get involved in its conservation and enhancement. To this end we aim to fund small scale conservation projects, develop education/training projects, work with volunteers and organise events.
