The principal activities of the charity are to apply its net income to relieve persons wheresoever situate, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress as a result of local, national or international disaster or by reason of their social and economic circumstances and to further the education ( including social and physical training) of such persons.

THE PROVISION OF GENERAL AND TECHNICAL ADVICE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT (INCLUDING THE OPERATION) OF BUSINESSES AND OTHER ENTERPRISES AND THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND RE-TRAINING IN THE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT.

PENCIL exists to advance the education of children in Africa by providing and assisting in the provision of materials equipment and facilities for education at schools in Africa.

Improvement of water supplies, sanitation and advice on related health matters through theimplementation of water projects, through the installation of water pumps, hand pumps, and any otherwater intervention as well as through education at site of the local communities. Education of the public concerning the nature, causes and effects of such poverty through work shops and other means.

To provide basic education in the tribal areas in rural India. Financial assistance to cover salaries in single teacher schools in rural areas, and for those institutions and establishments to enable them to improve the basic education and health care provision in rural areas.
