In the interests of the protection and conservation of the environment of Merseyside and the promotion of wider sustainability issues, MET engages in the following activities: organising events, meetings, educational opportunities, fundraising, awarding grants, provision of knowledge and expertise and working in partnership with other organisations.

Parent Teacher Association, dormant in activity since 2003/04

The charity has received one substantial initial donation of -ú5000 from a single benefactor and has also raised -ú111 through a car boot sale on its behalf. It has sought suitable requests for assistance from parents of children with brain-damage in the area but has either not received suitable requests (e.g. other charities have bid for funds) or is in the process of assessing bids from centres.

2 main aims - 1. To raise awareness of the dangers of the sun and in particular the links to childhood sunburn and the development of malignant melanoma later in life. 2. To fund the installation of sun shades into local schools and childrens centres.3. To provide sun caps for primary schools to protect children on hot days and provide them with the knowledge to protect themselves.

Prize Giving

Encouraging and supporting Church of England churches, groups of churches and partners in the Ormskirk Deanery in the Diocese of Liverpool. Particular support for Red Church, which organises several different weekly meetings that support and encourage young people with religious beliefs:

The charity receives donations from local businesses , and donates its funds and time to other charities that actively encourage and develop young people , who would otherwise be ' on the streets'

Relief from poverty for ex sevicemen and their dependants, resident in Pendle.

RISE supports two groups of children: young carers (whose lives are affected by a close family member with physical/mental/learning needs/disabilities) and bereaved children (bereaved of a parent or sibling).Children come together to share experiences/worries/emotions but most importantly to have fun with other children in similar situations which helps them to realise that they are not alone.

Charitable donations received from parents and/or other donars are used to fund educational visits and other educational activities to raise standards.

Help women of all ages and backgrounds to access services, training and advice. we provide a safe warm environment for women to come in and ask for help or just sit and have a chat

Todmorden Christian Fellowship is a Christian church which serves the community of Todmorden.

Various fund raising activities to raise money for Calder Vale St John's C of E Primary School for the benefit of the children.

The charity is preserving tramcar Paisley 16 and aims to return it to operational condition. It is currently on display in the Tramtown exhibition in Blackpool
