Charities In Norfolk

Our charity helps individuals who live or attend school in the area specified by the terms of the charity with books for educational purposes, with travel to & from school, with uniform, with further educational studies at university abroad or at home. This year we had four applicants.

The Charity's activities are to advance any charitable purpose for the benefit of the inhabitants of the village of Upwell in Norfolk, in particular but not exclusively the advancement of education, the relief of poverty and the upkeep and maintenance of the village church. The Trustees have a policy of providing education grants for youngsters in Upwell.

Managing Smallburgh (Union) Fen and Common Fen, Smallburgh. Providing assistance to those in need in Smallburgh.

Supports work with young people in Norfolk

The provision, maintenance, repair, and preservation of an organ in the church at The Carmelite Monastery at Quidenham, Norfolk.

Fund raising by members via voluntary donations

Parent Teachers Association raising funds to support the activities of Cecil Gowing Infants School, Sprowston, Norwich

Donates money to support poor and sick individuals and organisations in Stoke Holy Cross areas

Poppy's Creche is a Suffolk based charity set up to relieve the suffering and distress of hedgehogs inneed of care and attention by providing a rescue, care and rehabilitation service forsick, injured, or orphaned hedgehogs with the aim of releasing such hedgehogsback into the wild wherever possible.

PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO THE lOCAL COMMUNITY FOR POVERTY AND HARDSHIP ALSO SUPPORTS LOCAL CHURCH

The provision of facilities for business and recreation

Distribution of money to needy in North Pickenham - must be of pensionable age. Source of funds is rent received for 10.25 acres of farmland within the village.

Develop and then operate a village hall (Scole Parish Hub) to support the needs of the residents of the Parish of Scole in Norfolk.

DONATIONS TO VILLAGE INHABITANTS

Oral health educational workshops for a range of educational settings and community groups, raising awareness and advocating the importance of good oral health, dental screening initiative in nurseries and primary schools, oral health improvement appointments within our Great Yarmouth, Bradwell, Lowestoft and Thorpe St Andrew practice sites and oral health care training for health professionals.

We raise funds for staff/student 'extras' at the school, support home/school communication and contribute to the Sewell Park community.At present we focus on working with the Papillon Project to encourage students with gardening, and redeveloping links between the school and the Sewell Barn Theatre.

John Swaine's Charity for the relief of the poor within the parish boundary of West Lynn, in the Borough of Kings Lynn, Norfolk;

The charity collects rent for use of land in possession of the Parish Council, and uses these monies to make annual financial disbursements to qualifying parishioners.

Fundraising for the benefit of repair and improvements to St. Michael's church, Sutton, Norfolk.

PROVIDES ALLOTMENTS FOR RESIDENTS OF INGOLDISTHORPE AND LOCAL VILLAGES. RENTS ARE PAID ANNUALLY AND THE ALLOTMENT AREA IS MAINTAINED TO A GOOD STANDARD BY THE PARISH COUNCIL ACTING AS TRUSTEES.

Girl Guiding Activities

Controls assets and raises funds which are distributed to the local parochial church council and the needy of the parish.

Gislingham Silver Band is a village community band. We encourage all ages and abilities to join us. We play for approximately 25 events a year including 2 Remembrance Day parades, Village Fetes, Garden parties and church services.

The trust considers applications from individuals of all ages, and groups, for financial assistance in obtaining equipment/services, particularly those not provided by statutory bodies. When considering a large project, preference is given to contributing towards a specific item. Projects of an educational nature are also considered for support.
