We fund raise in aid of the children of Forncett School

To provide outings, holidays etc. for members with learning difficulties and their carers.To support parents and carers who care for people with a learning disability or physical handicap.

We maintain and look after the village hall for the use of a variety of groups such as, Stibbard W.I. It is also used for social events such as wedding receptions, funerals, village meals, children's parties. The management committee undertake a variety of social and fund raising events to facilitate social integration and a sense of community.

Receipt of a small income from trust land which is then donated to other village and church charities in the village of Surlingham.

General Charitable Purposes

The relief of sickness and distress and the protection and preservation of public health by the provision, and assistance in the provision of medical and other equipment and facilities not provided by the National Health and other statutory bodies in the area served by the Heacham Group Practice.

A village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of Elsing in the county of Norfolk without distinction of political,religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

The charity supports the elderly and poverty stricken residents of the village, and helps with village activities.

The Management Committee (Trustees) run the Village Institute for the benefit of the villagers and aim to offer a range of social activities on their behalf. Fundraising activities take place regularly with the development of the hall's facilities as the primary aim in order that the Hall can continue to function as an integral part of a small rural village.

To facilitate the study and exchange of local history and archaeology information in Great Yarmouth and district through meetings and publication of books.GYLH&AS provides information to the public, provides speakers for local meetings, works with local archaeological and other groups in the area. It interacts with local museums & runs a YAC in conjunction with the Time & Tide Museum.

Income to provide relief to parishioners in need

Provides a recordiing of the local weekly newspaper, the Beccles and Bungay Journal, plus a quarterly magazine and a music tape.
