For the benefit of the poor of the townships of Appletreewick and Burnsall. To be distributed by the Trustees (Parson Churchwardens and four others) on St Thomas's Day. (December 21st In Book of Common Prayer).

Main purpose of WI are to enable women to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions, national & international. In music, drama & all issues connected with rural life. It seeks to give women the opportunity of working together through the WI organisation, and of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

Ark Ripon is a social club for adults with learning &/ or physical disabilities. We meet at Ripon Bowling Club, Bondgate Green on 3 Tuesday evenings per month (apart from school holidays). Activities include socializing, music, arts, quizzes, games, bingo & crafts. We were formerly known as Ripon Gateway Club (from Sept 1968 to February 2007) and then Avalon Ripon Klub (ARK) until July 2016.

WE PROVIDE ACCESS AND SUPPORT FOR THOSE WITH A DISABILITY AND PROVIDE GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS AND SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE PLACES AT DERWENT HILL FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. OUR MAIN SOURCE OF FUNDS IS FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND BURSARIES.

FUNDRAISING TO PROVIDE EXTRA EVENTS, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUPILS OF RIPLEY ENDOWED PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Annual grant to individuals with a medical, health or sickness need and relief of poverty in the category of children/young people, elderly/old people and any other special case.

(1)The study of Natural History, Geology and Archaeology. (2)The collection of information concerning topography, field paths. natural and archaelogical features of Darlington District and Teesdale including compilation of lists of recent fossils, fauna and flora.(3) The preservation of characteristic plants and animals of the district.

Nawton and Beadlam Millennium Wildlife Garden was created as a joint village project to mark the year 2000. A wildlife garden was created on a donated piece of land. The garden includes a large pond, woodland area and a wide selction of plants native to North Yorkshire. The garden is freely accessible to the public. The garden is managed and maintained by a team of local volunteers.

Provision of educational and training support to children and young people through through making donations and grants to St John Fisher Catholic High School.

To raise awareness of dementia within the population, organisations and businesses in Bentham and its surrounding area. Toprovide awareness sessions and training throughout the area. To improve the quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers by creating events and opportunities. To raise money to fund these objectives

Girlguiding Selby Central District is part of Girlguiding UK and as such is part of a worldwide movement which enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

We are a small school parent teacher association organising events at school to raise funds for school equipment, improving the outdoor learning environment and for extra-curricular activities: ie books, a stage area, a garden, a stained glass window, a school pantomime. We also host social events such as a duck race, a fashion show, discos and music evenings for entertainment.

The general benefit of the inhabitants of the parishes of Darley and Menwith and Thornthwaite with Padside in such charitable way as the trustees think fit.

Donating money at Christmas time to elderly 'poorer' people in our village parish who we feel could benefit genuinly from this. Donating money at any time within the year when there is thought to be genuine hardship.

Run one or two half day contests each year. Some help being given to a few schools by running or assisting with chess clubs. Also provide funding for chess materials in schools.
