Charities In North Yorkshire

We hold lectures/activities to educate the public on the geography, history and architecture of area. We work to secure the preservation/protection and development of features of historic or public interest. We inspect all planning applications submitted to the local council and comment on these to promote high standards of planning and architecture in Skipton and environs.

TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING WITHIN THE BOROUGHS OF FILEY, SCARBOROUGH, WHITBY AND RYEDALE IN THE COUNTY OF NORTH YORKSHIRE, AMONGST CHILDREN WHO ARE AT RISK OF EXCLUSION DUE TO THEIR ADDITIONAL NEEDS AND SOCIAL DISADVANTAGE IN BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.

The trust gives donations to charities local to Leeds, York and surrounding areas, although not exclusively, the trust tends to make donations predominantly to help the prevention and relief of poverty, overseas aid relief and research organisations.

Application of the income of the Charity to supply extra benefits to Giggleswick Primary School and to promote the education of present and past pupils who are under the age of 25 years, and also for charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the village and surrounding area.

Advocacy for the rights and needs of people with disabilities in our geographical area.Advocating for changes to physical infrastructure and facilities to improve accessibility to the local community and its activities.Representing people with disabilities on wider forums and with the relevant local authorities.

Raising funds through social events at the School or in the nearby community

The main activities of the fund is used for charity events.

RUN BOTH EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL FUNCTIONS TO RAISE MONEY FOR NOTABLE NATIONAL AND LOCAL CHARITIES TOGETHER WITH FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE. FUNDS RAISED WILL INCLUDE HELP AND ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN BOTH THE UK AND ABROAD. ROTARY HAS AN INTERNATIONAL CHARITY TO WHICH THE ROTARY CLUB OF WETHERBY WHARFEDALE SUBSCRIBES. EACH YEAR WE IDENTIFY A MAJOR CHARITABLE PROJECT TO SUPPORT

Weekly meeting both social and educational

To provide recreational facilities for the village of Escrick

The provision & maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Flaxton in North Yorkshire without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures & classes, other forms of recreation & leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants and promoting education for the inhabitants.

Monthly business meetings both social and educational

Help with the maintance of Masham church

Maintenance and administration of the Thornton Rust Village Institute.

Hall is used for classes, meetings, public/private social events and fund-raising events.

Monthly lunches for the over 60s of Elvington. Afternoon Tea once a year with lunch. Christmas party with entertainment. Outings to places of interest by coach. Shopping visits by coach.

The principal objects and activities of the charity are to advance the education of the public in the arts, in particular the arts of music, speech, drama and dance in all their branches.

Campaigning to obtain better sports and leisure facilities for Malton and Noton on Derwent

Management of Village Hall Facility, Raising of funds.

To promote the conservation of seals along the North Yorkshire, Cleveland, Teesmouth and Co. Durham coastlines, in particular but not exclusively by:Rescuing sick or injured seals and providing medical facilities, care and rehabilitation before release; supporting research; and advancing the education of the public in seal ecology and any other issues relating to seal conservation.

To provide a service in Drama/Music for people with learning difficulties

The advancement of health through the provision of services or grants for the benefit of those up to the age of 30 years of age who are suffering from any form of disability.Provision of grants to Ataxia UK towards finding cure for Friedreichs AtaxiaRaise awareness of disability amongst the general public including disability rights.Operates solely in Richmondshire, North Yorkshire.

Advancing the education of the pupils at the Hertford Vale Primary School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not normally provided by the Local Authority
