Making financial grants to other charitable organisations that help adults with learning disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilled lives through training, particularly practical and educational skills.

During the year, the Trust runs an annual seminar and exhibition, produces a quarterly magazine 'The Meat Hygienist', which is made available to all members free of charge, promoted meat hygiene and inspection, promoted education in meat hygiene and inspection and continuing professional development amongst meat hygiene inspectors.

The objectives of the Canoe Foundation are principally to raise money; inform and educate; and allocate funds, in line with the Charity's mission statement: 'Positively changing lives through canoeing'. This includes support for young people and equality.

THE SOCIETY PROMOTES THE SCHOLARLY STUDY OF ALL ASPECTS OF THE HISTORY OF THE CHEMICAL SCIENCES (INCLUDING ALCHEMY). To provide assistance to members and former members of the Institute or their families who have come upon hard times.

We help and assist disabled persons by the provision of cameras, which are suitably adapted to meet their individual needs, to enable them to engage in and enjoy photography in its many aspects. We also run photography competitions, exhibitions, studio days, various photographic events and publish a quarterly magazine for our members, to inform and encourage them.

We provide support to relieve financial hardship amongst ambulance, police or fire service personnel injured in the course of duty (and the families and dependants of such personnel) and at the Trustees' discretion to those injured in any other circumstances and through grants awarded to support projects of existing Emergency Services focused Charities.

The provision of holidays to women in need of a holiday by reason of age, poverty, infirmity, disablement or social or economic circumstances.

As custodians of the Motor Tug Brocklebank on behalf of the Mersey Maritime Museum, the volunteers maintain this historic vessel in a mechanically and structurally sound and smart condition, all necessary insurances, surveys and dues being paid and bring credit to the museum when both in and away from her home port.

The trustees have chosen to use the foundation's assets to provide grants and bursaries for the arts and related travel.
