The main purpose of MUNDI's work is to advance education among children and young people in the City of Nottingham, County of Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands Region about global citizenship and development issues and to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different ethnic and religious groups

To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in Southwell and the surrounding area; and education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the environment.

The investment and management of funds controlled by the Trust with a view to making a financial return over and above inflation so that the surplus can be used for charitable giving.

The object of the Trust is to establish and maintain leisure facilities for the inhabitants of Southwell and district. The Trustees seek to achieve this objective through the operation of Southwell Leisure Centre

Land held by the Trust includes a car park, outdoor sports facilities, a bowls pavilion, and a visitor centre, hosting four different organisations who utilise the facilities. The Trustee works with the voluntary organisations to provide and maintain the facilities and recreation grounds for the communities of Teversal, Stanton Hill, Skegby and surrounding area.
