The Society was founded in 1927 to promote, improve and increase the appreciation and use of herbs within the community and the prevention of disease. Its principal activities are:(a) Increase the understanding and use of herbs for health and well being.(b) Provide information, knowledge and news on all aspects of herbs.(c) Bring together all those with an interest in herbs.

The principal activity of the society and its objective is the promotion and teaching of psychology to current and past Open University Psychology students and members of the general public. Lovewise aims to provide Christian teaching on marriage, sex and relationships to young people. Lovewise resources have been prepared for use in schools, church youth groups and by parents at home. Our main office is in Newcastle upon Tyne and work is carried out by employees and volunteers throughout the UK, some resources have also been translated into other languages.

Providing behavioural support and advice to families who are experiencing issues with their Bedlington Terriers or Bedlington crosses and re-homing Bedlington Terriers and Bedlington crosses who have been given up, left homeless or whose owners cannot keep them for whatever reason.

We aim to create new allotment sites around the UK. Working mainly with volunteers we identify suitable sites for new allotments which will build community, help people learn about growing their own food. New allotment sites will also reduce waiting lists and increase biodiversity. We work with the National Allotment Society and local authorities.

Provision of a holistic meditation retreat

The Trust exists to promote the efficiency of the Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service in such ways as the Trustees see fit. It provides worldwide assistance and relief of hardship to serving and retired personnel and supports the development of RAF nursing and education through scholarships.

Our charity holds meetings at its rooms for the reading of original papers, discussions and lectures, it holds an annual exhibition, field meetings and workshops. It publishes a journal and entomological text books. It makes available a library and collections of entomological specimens. We support sufferers of sma and their families however we can, in line with our objectives: e.g. funding for car/home adaptations, funding specialist medical equipment and toys, financial support, help and support with funeral costs/arrangements, as well as providing emotional support for the families affected by the condition and donating money to fund research.

Support for the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod

Our primary concern is promoting sexual health among young people by encouraging more rewarding relationships. Resources and programmes designed by the Health Behaviour Group are used mainly in educational settings but have been adapted to a variety of contexts. We specialise in peer-led and multi-agency approaches with participatory, group-learning styles often involving dramatic conventions.

We promote clinical research in Classical Haematology. We do this by: increasing participants recruitment to classical haematology clinical trials; transitioning local audits to large, national ones; developing our own studies; increasing exposure of haematology registrars to the NHS research environment.
