The Charity makes grants to elderly (mostly) in need in the two adjoining Somerset villages of Curry Rivel and Hambridge by making annual payments to them at Christmas each year, and also assists young persons with respect to their educational needs by providing school grant payments to the Primary Schools in each village

To advance the education of children and young people in the South West of England who are identified as having high academic potential but face barriers in progressing their educational aspirations due to social or economic disadvantage.

We are not active at the moment - no premises available. We are still in negotiations with the Shepton Mallet History Group and our understanding is that they expect to merge and take over. The objects of the trust are to provide a wide range of educational facilities in a woodland setting for schools, youth groups and the general public.

Providing grants for travel and registration fees for attending scientific conferences and seminars. Providing funds for the cost of profesional journal subscriptions and textbooks. Providing funds for IT facilities supporting research activities.

Fundraising for the school to purchase additional equipment for the children during the year and to fund school trips and outings.

Conserving fruit and other trees, hedges and sward. Harvesting and disposing of fruit. Promoting public appreciation and understanding of green open space with its unique contribution to public well-being.

Raising funds & rent for the building used and owned by Watchet Guides, Brownies & Rainbow packs.

Provide sailing activities for girls and young women through Girlguiding Somerset, with a view to developing their self-confidence, self-respect and self-awareness.

Cultivation of Medicine and surgery in all it's branches, principally via education

Making grants to elderly/needy people in village of Templecombe.

Charitable donations to young people born in immediate area to support further education and donations to young women born in area on their marriage. Applicable only to people born in Langport, Somerset.

The purpose of the Charity is to provide relief through grants to residents of Halse who suffer financial hardship or other distress; and to give financial support through grants to enable residents to undertake educational or vocational courses or to engage in philanthropic activities.

We are a small local charity run entirely by volunteers. We provide blind and partially sighted people with a monthly audio magazine. our aim is to provide a variety of general-interest magazine articles together with a selection of factual and news-related items. By making full use of the Royal Mail 'Articles for the Blind' service we are able to provide this facility without any charge.

Produce local talking newspaper on memory stick for visually and physically impaired people

Currently, and for at least the next year, the Charity is providing a functioning safe environment for the Village Library, as part of a Service Level Agreement with Somerset County Council. The current location is in a stationary ex-county Council mobile Library situated in a village car park. At the same time we are working with the Parish Council to provide a permanent community building.

We meet twice a year. We have an income from various legacies including two small pieces of land. We give out small payments where there is need in the parish of Somerton.

It was set up to conserve the older buildings in Glastonbury. It looks at planning applications and opposes those which are not in harmony with the town. It also helps to preserve the countryside by helping to plant apple trees and other native trees as well as maintaining footpaths. It organises lectures in the winter months and walks in the summer and publishes newsletters.

Collection and distribution of money for various charities as agreed by Club members.

Monthly meetings with speakers on a wide range of topics. Regular educational outings. Participation in craft workshops.

The charity answers requests from people needing financial help in sickness or disability. Grants also made to voluntary organisations which benefit sick or disabled people in Broadwindsor and district.
