COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

The Yorkshire and Humber Association of Civic Societies (YHACS) is the distinct voice of the Civic Society Movement in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Our vision is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in the region by engaging them in not only the protection of heritage, but also the promotion of sustainable development and urban renaissance.

We build generations through three core programmes: 1) PUBLISHING - Advancing the Christian faith for public benefit, using traditional and social media platforms.2) PASTORAL - Delivering educational and community development opportunities through mentoring and sports.3) PHILANTHROPY - Providing practical assistance and financial resources to break cycles of lack.

TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR VILLAGERS TO HOLD SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Providing community activities involving song and dance training and performance by volunteers.

Our aim is to support the artistic and community activities undertaken at Pontardawe Arts Centre. Promoting public interest and education in the arts by supporting and assisting the provision of facilities at the Centre. We seek to provide practical and financial support and volunteering opportunities for the Centre, an important cultural, educational and recreational community hub.

Small group community activities on a regular basis, private hire of hall for parties, etc.,Parish Council meetings, elections and village events.

To encourage high standards of architecture and planning in Margate and environs, by holding regular meetings and talks, commenting on planning applications and taking a full part in local consultations and activities.

To provide support to young people with a learning disability and their families in the Lewisham area

Village Community Activities, such as Film Nights, Jumble Sales, Bingo nights, Council Meetings, W.I. Meetings, Historical group meetings and bookable for many Private Family Functions etc.

To provide and maintain a village hall and appropriate facilities for the inhabitants of West Acre and neighbouring communities without distinction of age, sex or race, for recreational, educational, social and other beneficial purposes, with the object of improving the quality of life of the said inhabitants.

TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE AREA BY A PROACTIVE INTEREST IN HERITAGE,ENVIRONMENT AND PLANNING ISSUES.

To encourage high standards of architectture and town planning in Lancaster;to stimulate public interest in the history and character of the town and its environs; to pursue these ends by means of meetings, exhibitions, lectures, publication and other forms of publicity.

PCDP UK promotes holistic development with marginalized communities of rural Sindh, Pakistan, especially focussing on education, health, environment and poverty reduction among the Parkari community. PCDP UK actively partners with Parkari Community Development Programme (PCDP) in Pakistan, which is a registered NGO run by Parkaris themselves (www.parkaricdp.com).

We provide community activities and accomodation for local groups. Our activities include: themed charity suppers, fayres and produce shows. The hall is also made available for local groups such as Cafe Mornings, Amateur dramatics, art groups as well as for private parties.

Manage and run The Smeatons Centre and ensure that it is maintained well.

Maintain contact with city planning authorities and scrutinise planning applications.Put forward members' views on larger developments to the press and city planners.Provide information, visits and talks on Exeter.Keep records of existing Blue Plaques and commission new ones.Keep members up to date through an e-mailing list, regular newsletter and monthly open mornings.

Tonbridge Civic Society's main interest is in the care for the beauty, history and character of Tonbridge and its vicinity. It keeps a record of listed and important buildings. It maintains contact with the local Council to maintain high standards of architecture and town planning. It presents awards for high standards of design, promotes footpaths and cycleways. It publishes a regular newsletter.

Community activities/fund raising to finance upkeep of village hall & other events.

Our charity allocates funds from donations and grants to support vital initiatives in Uganda, with a primary focus on food, water, electricity projects, and providing education. By focusing on these areas, we strive to foster sustainable community development and improve the quality of life for those we serve.
