The Society's principal objectives are to stimulate public interest, to promote high standards of planning and architecture and to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area of benefit, which is defined as an area comprising the watershed of the Conwy River, south of Afon Ganol.

Our charity advances public education in Vedanta philosophy, teachings, and practices, highlighting the practical applications in daily life. We provide educational programs, workshops, and community activities, promoting ethical living and spiritual growth for the benefit of the public worldwide, in accordance with English law.

The Trust exists to provide village hall amenities for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Flitcham cum Appleton in the County of Norfolk and the surrounding area including use for meetings lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants

The Committee meets every 4 weeks (approx) with a planning group discussion and comment forum. There are reports on our local historical heritage buildings, future Civic Trust activities, Trees for Burnley, further additions to our Blue Plaque scheme and awards to outstanding developments and renovations to which our attention is drawn - both by the members and the public. Withington Civic Society seeks to bring together and involve all persons who are concerned to protect, improve and understand the built and natural environment, and heritage of Old Moat, Withington, Ladybarn and south Fallowfield in Manchester.

As a charity we raise funds for ourselves through various community activities e.g. Open Meetings, Skittles Evenings and so forth.
