Making Mum Proud wants to ensure that no young adult has to give up on their personal dreams and life goals following the loss of a parent or guardian. We are aiming to provide support to University students and facilitate access or continued access to the opportunities that come with pursuing further education.

The promotion of the education of people in the district of Tiverton, Devon, who are resident and are attending or have attended a maintained school or college within the area of benefit. This can include social, physical or vocational training and the Trustees may also apply it in the provision of items, services and facilities for any maintained school in the area.

The Can Care Support Group provides financial support through the Can Care Trust in India for orphaned girls who live in a home situated in Jaipur. Money is provided for shelter, food, clothing, medical attention, education at local schools, and further education at university level. Support is also given for further education and medical care to older girls who have left the home.

We give an initial grant to students attending college or university full time to help with their expenses. CHALKE DEANERY, IN THE DIOCESE OF SALISBURY UK, IS LINKED WITH THE DIOCESE OF CUEIBET IN SOUTH SUDAN.IT PROVIDES THE PEOPLE OF CUEIBET WITH EDUCATION AND TRAINING THROUGH SPONSORSHIP FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS, SUPPORT TO CUEIBET PRIMARY SCHOOL AND TRAINING FOR CLERGY. IT PROMOTES SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY BY DEVELOPING VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND PROVIDING ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT.

The committee held a range of fund raising events during the year which included a quiz night, a ball, grand draws and a Christmas Fayre, and music evening. We also take a supportive role at the college helping out at events if required.

The charity makes grants to pupils and former pupils of Whitcliffe Mount School. Grants may be made to past pupils towards study at an institution of further education. The charity also provides money for the headteacher for the furthering of activities connected with the school.
