Provide grants to children within the Parish of Newbiggin in Teesdale when they leave Primary School to purchase Uniforms and Books Etc in preparation for Secondary School

Supporting financially current & former students of Shaftesbury School and its predecessor schools (Shaftesbury Grammer School, Shaftesbury High School, Christy's School) who undertake travel to further their education and/or professional training.

Educational Grants to Ulverston Victoria High School

The Discovery Society is a Charitable Organisation attached to an 11-18 comprehensive Secondary School with the purpose of encouraging exploration and research. This includes supporting Duke of Edinburgh Award activities, Crest Award activities, participation in Operation Wallacea and organising programmes of visiting lecturers. Relevant opportunities and research partners are continually sought.

Education and training

The objects of the charity are to establish, support and maintain Jewish schools for the education of Jewish boys from the age of 10 to 18 years.The charity has continued to achieve this objective through the provision of a Jewish boy's school in Manchester.The school accepts its wider social responsibilities by students who benefit their co-religionists as well as the wider community.

The income and property of the charity shall exist for the purpose of advancing the education of the students by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for the education of students at the school and not normally provided from the delegated budget.

The charity awards an annual prize to a pupil at the school.

The main activities are to a) support the school events by providing volunteer helpers, e.g. in providing refreshments at school eventsb) organise events to raise money in order to provide additional equipment, e.g. camping equipment for Duke of Edinburgh activities, kits for school sports teams

To advance the education of students aged 9 to 18, being students who are the victims of bullying, or by reason of other emotional trauma or illness, are for the time being unable to attend mainstream school, including, but not limited to, providing them with on-line tuition and appropriate on-line and face-to-face support.

The money raised by the charity is used to help towards the cost of buying Bibles for the children at the local primary school. They receive these when they leave to go on to secondary school.

BOOK PRIZE FOR HIGH ACHIEVING PUPILS

In 2012-13 the Trust donated English text and reference books to 2 schools in Tanzania, and donated a digital camera to a secondary school in Kenya for a video/photography project. The Trust has also supported the Mediae Company's successful application to the EU to fund putting Makutano Junction into primary schools in the UK, as well as secondary schools in Poland, Bulgaria & Estonia.

Gives a small annual donation to young apprentices or young people in full time post Secondary School education who live in the Parishes specified in the Trust Deed
