WORDWISE, a Christian resource centre, is run by 6 Trustees, and a number of volunteers. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10.0am to 4.00pm. Donations of time and money are given by local Christians. A small coffee shop provides a warm welcome and a listening ear. We continue to have a sense of our prominent Christian presence in the centre of Kingsbridge.

Centred on Holt and the surrounding district, we offer social support and access to activities for those living with dementia and respite for their carers through provision of 2 weekly cafes, a home visiting service and a twice monthly afternoon cafe, plus information and advice on our website and newsletters, dementia awareness training and participation in local dementia friendly initiatives.

St.Albans Finnish school offers language classes in Finnish from 3 year olds to adults. The school also organises a variety of activities to non-students during school time. Wide range of Finnish products are available in the kiosk every school day. Cafe with favourite Finnish bakings is also open every school day.

We are working with the Parish Council and All Saints Church in Riseley to set up a Bus Stop Cafe at the Village Hall for young people of secondary school ages to drop-in for positive activities and refreshments after school one day a week - launching in January 2023. We are also taking on the premises currently occupied by Riseley Community Gymn from 1st January 2023 for use as a Community Hub.

We work to retain an important local building by generating income from it. The income will be used to develop it into a welcoming space that will support learning and encourage neighbourhood cohesion.
