To preserve artefacts , objects documents and information pertaining to the history of policing in Sussex, through displays at the old police station in the old town hall, Brighton.2. To advance the education of the public in the history of policing in Sussex, by the maintenance of a museum.

THE HALL IS USED BY LOCAL RECREATIONAL GROUPS (WHIST, TABLE TENNIS, LOCAL HISTORY, CULTURE & CRYSTAL THERAPY). THE HALL IS POPULAR ALSO FOR CHILDREN'S PARTIES. ELECTRIC HEATING IS AVAILABLE AND AMPLE TABLES AND CHAIRS ARE AVAILABLE. RECENT WORK WAS UNDERTAKEN TO INSTALL AUDIO/VISUAL EQUIPMENT AND A DEFIBRILLATOR.

The charity is the Management Committee of Sydenham Old School Room which is the Village Hall for Sydenham providing a venue for village events and being available for hire for private functions.
