Health Charities That specialise in Cancer

The principal activity of the charity is to create an individualised app for cancer patients to provide them with important and relevant information in relation to their illness.

The charity's activities are chanelled towards supporting its aim: 'To enhance the quality of life for local children and their families undergoing treatment for cancer'. We raise money, receive donations (which we gift aid). The money is spent eg. a weekend at Center Parcs for the children, siblings and parents. Families are often pauperised when a child is ill - we pay bills.

The charity has continued to raise awareness of its existence and ability to support families with local fetes, Christmas Fayres, stalls, etc. Providing information through leaflets and word of mouth of the effects of childhood cancer, particularly in the very young. The trustees provided emotional support to newly diagnosed families and advise them of options available for support.

"Bosom Buddies" is an entirely voluntary support group established to help patients and their families cope with the psychological and everyday consequences of breast cancer. We also raise monies to fund the group, support our fellow sufferers and buy valuable pieces of equipment for use within the Bristol Breast Unit, Bristol Oncology and Avon Breast Screening.

The charity provides a safe place to talk for cancer patients, carers, family and the bereaved that lost loved ones to cancer. The support comes from the people attending meetings themselves through their own experiences. Guest speakers are often invited. Research and studies are discussed for information purposes. We meet at Shepperton Medical Practice on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at. 1.30pm.

Charity to benefit 14 named beneficairies or such other charitable bodies and organisations as the trustees shall nominate during the trust period:- Cancer Research UK, RNIB, Institute of Cancer, NSPCA., NSPCC, RSPCA, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Arthritis Care, RNLI, Battersea Dogs Home, British Red Cross, Help the Aged, National Trust and RAF Benevolent Fund.

The Black Mountains Lions Club will consider many projects that fall within the following five guidelines, these are Vision, the Environment, Hunger, Paediatric Cancer and Diabetes. As well as providing grants to these deserving causes within the Powys and Herefordshire Areas, District and Multiple District Lions Club, Black Mountains Lions Club undertakes a number of community service projects.

Until mid-2017 the CIO chose to work together with Cancer Research UK to support CRUK's Create the Change Campaign to help finance the building of the Francis Crick Institute. Since then, the Charity has worked together with the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association and raised funds for Greenhouse Sports Limited to support the ongoing operation of the Greenhouse Centre.

The charity operates solely in the Cheltenham & Gloucester area, it helps in three areas: 1. Providing free exercise & wellbeing classes for cancer patients, 2.Donates money to the bereavement charity Cruse for training of new & existing counsellors, 3. Provides free swimming lessons to Primary school children whose parents could not afford top up lessons over & above those provided by the school.

The Club exists to provide singing tuition in the Barbershop style, under the auspices of the British Association of Barbershop Singers, to any member of the community who wishes to participate in singing and performing to audiences on an amateur basis. Many of these performances are for various Charitable causes such Macmillan Cancer Support, The British Red Cross, etc

To provide research into the causes of breast cancer, to provide support for breast cancer sufferers and to provide aids for those who have suffered from breast cancer.

Support rural development in India providing i) primary health, eye and disability care (vocational training for adult & rehab. training for children) ii) health awareness on nutrition, F.P.,use of good drinking water, sanitation & safer child birth iii) screening camps for breast & cervical cancer & treatment iv) homeo & modern medicine clinics v) supporting education of poor & blind students.

Fund-raising events to enable the Charity to purchase a holiday home with facilities providing respite for children with cancer and their families

We operate an award winning, confidential, general dermatology helpline, which provides information and/or support to anyone who has any kind of skin problem,including all types of skin cancer.

The provision of funds for the conduct of medical research into the prevention and cure of all forms of cancer.The provision of grants for the relief of poverty, sickness and distress and the protection and preservation of health.The provision of donations for any charitable purpose not covered above.

Our aim is to provide three things. A direct means for consumers to find SATCC accredited, safe and welcoming salons, spas and therapists who offer treatments for those touched by cancer. A register of SATCC approved training providers for salons, spas and therapists to further their cancer education. And a trusted source of inspiration, research & guidance for those scouring the internet

FUND RAISING FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUPPORTING RESEARCH INTO CHILDHOOD BRAIN TUMOURS, CAUSES, EFFECTS AND TREATMENTS. IN ADDITION THE CHARITY CAN PROVIDE TRAVEL GRANTS FOR TREATMENT AT THE DESIGNATED HOSPITAL; AND IS CURRENTLY FUNDING SHORT RESPITE BREAKS TO SUPPORT BOTH PATIENTS AND FAMILY. LAUNCHING RETURN TO EDUCATION PATHWAY BRAIN INJURY STUDENTS.

The relief of sickness and the preservation of health in particular by providing financial support to institutions, organsations or groups, providing treatment and prevention of cancer services and also to those suffering from cancer related illnesses. The support will apply to national, regional and local organisations and groups as agreed by the trustees at their discretion.

The objects and aims of the Charity, are to make available information and literature on the disease and details of locally available resources. A prime aim is to raise the awareness of Prostate Cancer, and associated issues, both locally and nationally, and to give priority to self-support for cancer patients by promoting regular talks, social activities, and providing time for these.

The choir travel to various concert venues, singing to raise money for charities such as Leukaemia & Cancer Research, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance to name but a few. Travel and other costs are taken from funds that are raised by holding coffee mornings and raffles. The choir website is now up and running thus enabling the public to find out more about the choir.

To give help to the need and distress of people with cancer or with other illnesses who can benefit from its services, and their families and friends. It does this through counselling, healing, relaxation, diet advice and supporting therapy work. Based in an appropriately equipped centre, all its work is complementary to the treatment given by patients' own doctors or hospitals.

Raise money to help those suffering from cancer with a paticular aim at making memories for them and their families.

Grant making for the public benefit, mainly to causes known to the trustees in the fields of Christian work, disaster relief, developing countries, drug & alcohol abuse, cancer research, the mentally handicapped and young people undetaking educational expeditions.

We give grants to individuals raising money for charity, especially those who are giving their own time and effort.We also give directly to other charities.Our priorities are Cancer, Alzheimers, Great Ormond St, National Trust and other medical, jewish, educational, community and childrens' charities in the UK.

Supply money-medical, building needs, man power, but mainly to people with cancer, brain tumours and blindness, plus sending people/money for furtherance of religion in UK. Supply money for research into all types of poverty-illness etc- child line donations. Helping local community in practical ways. In short, doing what churches should be doing, at home and abroad.
