MDUK PROVIDES EDUCATION, TRAINING AND INTERFAITH DIALOGUE FOR DEAF MUSLIMS THROUGHOUT THE UK. MDUK RAISES AWARENESS AND PROMOTES THE NEEDS OF DEAF MUSLIMS FOR ACCESS TO CULTURE AND SOCIETY THROUGH ELIMINATING COMMUNICATION BARRIERS.

The provision of swimming lessons, water therapy, carer respite and social activities to people of all ages who have physical, mental health or learning disabilities (and their carers) in the Wimborne and surrounding East Dorset area, in a safe and friendly environment (which is not normally provided by statutory authorities) to improve their health and wellbeing.

To provide a weekly talking newspaper and a monthly talking magazine service on USB microstick.web site and internet radio, to app 300 blind or partially sighted in the West Shropshire area. Our newspaper and magazine last up to 90 miniutes

To provide relief for persons who have, or are recovering from a disability, mental illness, emotionel problems, anxiety, depression or related symptoms by the provision of a befriending service and facilities for recreation with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Initiated by a personal bequest, the Trust offers direct and indirect financial support for the elderly and those suffering with mental illness in the Hurworth area. The 'Hurworth area' is defined by the following boundaries: River Tees; A167; A66 & Neasham Road which forms a rectangle containing ca 4000 inhabitants.

We provide deaf children and their families with opportunities to come together and socialise by activities such as parties, pantomime tickets and visits to places of interest. We also provide much needed equipment such as vibrating alarms clocks, flash doors bells, minicoms etc.

Improving the experience of blind and partially sighted attenders at cultural and leisure activities by supporting provision of audio description services, in particular raising standards of provision through the creation of Audio Description curricula for training purposes and new trainees.

Support for children out of school (and their parents), especially support for children who are school phobic, truanting, or who have been permanently excluded from school. Support consists of education advice, behaviour management, tuition and help with future educational placements.

PROVIDE EVENTS TO HELP AND GIVE ADVISE TO PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH HEARING LOSS. ARRANGE DAYS OUT AND ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN. PROVIDE FUNDING FOR A PLAYGROUP FOR THE CHILDREN TO ATTEND EVERY FORTNIGHT.

To promote, for the benefit of the public, research into the principles & practice of osteopathy in the treatment of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.), otherwise known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, & to disseminate the useful results of such research.

We hold quarterly support meetings at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth for all Patients and Carers in the region who have had, or are about to have, an operation for Oesophageal-Gastric cancer. Long Eaton & District Talking Newspaper for the Blind & Partially sighted has been operating since 1978 & has circa 150 clients from Eastwood - North; Castle Donington - South; Beeston - East; Borrowash - West and beyond via their website www.longeatontn.org.uk & ALEXA. An audio memory stick in posted out every three weeks with 20hours of content. A memory stick player is provided FOC if required.

Mercy Foundation Trust is a UK based charity that promotes General Health and well being through Free health promotion Seminars and Workshops aimed at preventing diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, thereby reducing the incidence of strokes and heart attacks. Most of our volunteers are healthcare professionals who would give free professional advice at the workshops.

Production and distribution of approximately 200 memory sticks containing local news each week to the blind and partially sighted in the Tendring area.
