Hyphen-21 promotes activities and skills which strengthen community. These include 'Poems for the wall,' a project which supplies poem-posters free of charge for display in schools, libraries and healthcare settings. The material includes a large number of bilingual poems and collections on mental health and learning disability ; also a collection of 25 illustrated poems for children around 10.

FYD is part of the National Deaf Children's Society, the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children & young people. We represent the interests and campaign for the rights of all deaf children & young people from birth until they reach independence. NDCS supports the deaf child through the family and directly supports deaf children & young people themselves.

Provision of recorded newspaper to blind and partially sighted residents of Penzance and West Penwith

it is a social group for all visually impaired people in ESSEX we do outings pub lunches, in the club we have speakers, quizzes,games and mutual support and advice from members of the group

OUR AIM IS TO SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE PEOPLE EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES THROUGH A DAY CENTRE PROVIDING A SAFE AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT FOR SUCH PERSONSLOCALLY . ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO REBUILD CONFIDENCE WERE OFFERED. OUR MEMBERS WERE DRAWN FROM AN AREA IN NORTH AND MID NORFOLK AROUND FAKENHAM AND WELLS.THE CENTRE HAS NOW CLOSED FOR LACK OF FUNDING.

On 1 September 2011 the Charity transferred its assets, liabilities and functions to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity (RMCC), an independent charity (Reg: 1095197) with similar aims and objectives, encompassing charitable purposes in connection with The Royal Marsden Hospital. Under a Deed of Covenant the Charity now transfers all income received to RMCC.

General Charitable Activities

Provision of emergency food supplies. Loans for necessities eg cookers. Personal advocacy re statutory groups eg local council, police. Training of local community volunteers. Listening - counselling poor mental health sufferers, appropriate referrals. Provides youth activities, mentoring and training. Trains volunteers and brings the community together in events and family days.

It provides the following services: information and advice, education, health (HIV/AIDS) employment, immigration, welfare, translation and interpretation. Promotion of Congolese culture and teaching of mother tongue, hospital, prison and home visits. Collection and distribution of clothes, household and other essential items to new asylum seekers and refugees etc..

At present we are travelling all over the UK spreading the word about the charity. We are also this year looking to raise money and the charity profile.We also travel around the country teaching children and young adults with disabilities, mental health and special needs martial arts

Help fund organisation who care for people with terminal cancer

Provide services to people who suffer with Sickle Cell Aneamia.

1. Alievation of mental distress & suffering to residents in the Bermondsey & Rotherhithe SE16 area (Southwark Borough of London). 2. To fund raise and encourage membership to the group in furtherence of its aims & objects. 3. To meet, talk, support and advocate for & with others in Berm & Roth M.H.S. group & beyond.

Asian Diabetic Association (ADA)activities are follows: ADA meets once a month at Shrewbury Health Centre, Newham on first monday of the month. ADA provides information on diabeties, diet, foot health and associated health issues. ADA invites professional health speakers to give information on special issues such as eye care, looking after teeth, benefits in Asian languages.
