Provision of broadcasting services to patients and staff at Maidstone Hospital

The Bedwyns' Link Scheme now covers the parishes of Great and Little Bedwyn, St Katherines, East and West Grafton, Wilton, Marten, Wexcombe.It is a good neighbour scheme which mainly enables our clients to reach local facilities like shops, post office, doctor's surgery and local hospitals. A small number of other activities such as home visits are also undertaken.

Providing music therapy in hospices, special schools, care homes and in the community.Promoting the development of music therapy in palliative care through workshops and courses.Establishing and evaluating clear therapeutic practices of music therapy in palliative care.Initiating and developing research projects on the provision of music therapy in palliative care.

We offer a good neighbour scheme to residents of our four village groups. This can include trips to hospitals, doctors, dentists, opticians, also shopping and pension collection.

To help to relieve patients & former patients of the hospital & others in the community who are sick,convalescent,disabled,handicapped,infirm or in need of assistance & to support the work of the hospital by helping to improve conditions for patients & staff with the provision of amenities & equipment.

We have organised two fundraising events in the fourth year of Megan's Challenge.In May we held our first 10K Fun Run/Walk which took place round the village of Gayton, Norfolk. Following track and road. Our chosen charity for this event was The Norfolk Hospice - Tapping House. In September we held our second Butterfly Ball to raise money for Megan's Challenge

The Lions Club is part of a world wide service organisation.Locally it raises funds by activities & receives donations, and makes donations locally, nationally & through Lions Clubs International world wide.The club also provides help in other ways to needy people & organisations, such as running and maintaining a local based ambulance/bus, hospital & home visits, garden clearances, etc

Provision of teaching and training in the fields of Endoscopy and Gastroenterology to the Medical community in the country of Bangladesh. This includes visits from Medical professionals from the UK to give lectures, seminars and practical demonstrations.
