Provision of weekly digital memory sticks of news for the blind

Create and supply audio versions of local news, weekly, for visually impaired people. Currently using USB Memory Sticks and the DAWN website: www.dawntn.org.uk.

Eye camp for poor people who can't afford eye surgery for blindness (IOL FOR CATARACT) and help for disabled people in the community. We have been organising camp for disabled people in Patna, Bihar India every year.

The Crewe and Nantwich Talking Newspaper provides a weekly service containing local news to its listeners who, are in the main visually impaired. The USB sticks are sent out to listeners each week and delivered back to the Talking Newspaper Office by the Royal Mail, as part of a national service to the blind.

Relieves the visually impaired or those labouring under some permanent or temporary incapacity or disability which makes reading a strain by the provision of a range of materials in alternative formats and media. These currently comprise weekly local news and a magazine issued three times per annum in digital media format.

TALKING NEWSPAPER & MAGAZINE

Record & copy extracts from the weekly local paper, monthly area magazine and occasional extra articles for the blind and partially sighted plus distribute to the blind, partially sighted & other handicapped.

Provide a talking newspaper on memory stick for visually impaired and blind people in and around the Borough of Havant, Hampshire. This provides the listeners with local information and news. Our premises at 19 East Street, Havant, PO9 1AE (telephone 023 9248 0101) enable us to operate a drop in centre for listeners and friends.

Vision for Bangladesh is a Christian charity seeking to eliminate avoidable blindness amongst the Tea Garden and other deprived communities in Bangladesh. The charity provides primary eyesight assessments and basic health education through the Christ Foundation for Bangladesh church, and resources BNSB eye hospital in Moulvibazar to provide appropriate treatment and surgery.

To advance the education and well-being of the pupils at aschools and training establishments for the blind in Sierra Leone. Funds raised go towards supporting the day to day running of the schools and training establishments, the provision of equipment and undertaking specific related projects.

The touring of nostalgic drama and entertainment to residential & nursing homes, day centres, sheltered accommodation, hospices,village halls, and theatres. The programme encourages participation by an elderly and infirm audience base. An outreach programme serving primary and secondary schools & colleges.Further outreach work with visually impaired people using drama as an empowering tool.

We are a small local charity run entirely by volunteers. We provide blind and partially sighted people with a monthly audio magazine. our aim is to provide a variety of general-interest magazine articles together with a selection of factual and news-related items. By making full use of the Royal Mail 'Articles for the Blind' service we are able to provide this facility without any charge.

We provide support and information regarding all forms of sight loss to current members and offered support to non members who contact us.We provided free training in Sight loss Awareness in conjunction with Wales Council for the Blind via 2 Accredited volunteers.We took a group of 18 to Sight Village to increase their aids and adaptations awareness
