Heritage Charities That specialise in History

We aim to humanise history through collection and preservation of survivor testimonies, personal objects and education about the Bosnian genocide by providing speakers, educational material, activity resources and much more, we hope to challenge perceptions of social justice, morality and human rights here in the UK.

We have added to our museum's features a DVD player with film of the historic buildings in the village and a free footpath guide for visitors to follow. We use one of our display cabinets for local displays of interest - this year we had a display for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, also on the history of the telephone.

Preservation of manuscripts

The Cambridge Historical Society was started in 1923 as the Faculty's first research seminar, the following year began publishing the Cambridge Historical Journal, one of the country's leading scholarly periodicals, and more recently has been making annual awards of small grants to support research.

The primary objectives of IAMS are the study of and research into the history and development of metallurgical processes in any part of the world. Blaina Heritage Action Group aims to preserve the heritage of the historic town of Blaina. The town has significant historical links to ironworks during the industrial revolution. It endeavours to collect, preserve and display items, testimonials and artefacts pertaining to the role Blaina has played in Welsh history.

The Bakelite Design Trust promotes the conservation and significance of historical plastics since 1850, principally Bakelite, in everyday life for the general public, students and designers, lifelong learning, reminiscence and enjoyment. This includes education on environmental considerations. It uses access to collections, archives and online as resources to benefit people across the country.

NMGT maintains an inner city nature reserve through the work of its members and volunteers. It arranges events such as wild flower walks, bird watching and local history lectures. The trust also liaises with other local environmental and youth groups.
