Research and publish local history of Poole and surrounding areas

The Arts Society West Gloucestershire provides education on art history by providing a programme of lectures by certified speakers, available to all. We also sponsor art experiences in local schools.

Meetings to carry out informal learning activities e.g. local history Art History also Physical activities e.g. Walking Croquet and social contacts e.g. monthly Coffee Mornings with Speaker And Sunday Lunch goup. We also arrange trips to the theatre and gardens.

We help to build the collection, and conserve and display items in the Sierra Leone National Railway Collection. We promote and organise meetings, lectures and events to foster interest in the SLNRM. We edit and publish of data, information, reproductions, books, periodicals, papers and pamphlets relating to the museum. We encourage the study of railway transport in Sierra Leone and its history.

Promotion of history of historic county of Glamorgan, primarily through publication of annual transactions entitled 'Morgannwg'.

Baobab Steelband offers music and developmental opportunities for young people and adults living in London. Our organisation promotes participation in the arts and advances education in Steel Pan history, performance, and manufacturing. Additionally, we provide support, resources and activities to assist members progress in their personal lives whilst positively impacting wider society.

Maintaining a watching brief on the archaeological impact of development in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire and providing advice to relevant bodies in the areas concerned. Providing regular conferences on archaeological and historical themes.

To advance the education of the public, in the history and heritage of Basildon Borough through the collection, preservation of records, material and artefacts of historical significance. By making available through display and talks at the societies location and around the borough - 'Green Centre', Wat Tyler Country Park, Pitsea Hall Lane, Pitsea, Basildon, Essex SS16 4UH

The objects of the charity are to stimulate civic pride in the beauty, history and character of Scarborough and its surroundings and to take an active interest in maintaining those features on which the character of the town depends. During the year the society's activities included commenting on planning applications, participating in heritage open days, raising funds and organising town walks.

i) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area of Long Sutton and surrounding Villages. ii) To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area of benefit.iii) to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area of benefit.

Scott's grotto is open for public visits on Saturdays and bank holiday Mondays between April and September. The grotto is also open for pre-booked group visits and for special events. During all visits, guided tours are provided by stewards (volunteers) on the history of the site. The trust also preserves the grade 1 and 2* site through undertaking repair and improvement work to the site.

Support to British Orthodox parishes and local clergy; support to other Orthodox communities in the UK & overseas; counselling and pastoral care to individuals; provision of information through publications and websites; education and study of the history, doctrines and worship of Oriental Orthodox Christianity.

The Society promotes the Leeds & Liverpool Canal's history & environment, ensuring its traditions and heritage survive, with talks, informative walks and telling stories of the canal & boating families. The Society owns the Heritage Short Boat Kennet, maintained by volunteers, travelling the Canal's Corridor with a cargo of displays & hands on activities to communities, organisations and schools

Charity has acquired and stores a comprehensive historic archive of photographs, documents and artefacts relating to Radlett and the other parts of the Civil Parish of Aldenham. These are available to anyone interested in the history of the area. Radlett & District Museum also puts on displays of selected material in other locations, arranges talks and gives guided tours.

The Friends of Bruce Castle provides volunteers to help at events and functions, we assist the museum to raise funds for specific projects, we publicise the work of the museum and its history and educate the public about the building's significance. We also raise our own funds in order to be able to help the museum to purchase small artefacts.

Researching and recording the history of Bideford, Northam and the surrounding district, including the indexing of the Bideford Gazette newspaper. Publishing booklets on aspects of local history .Creating topic packs on local history primarily for use by schools. Assisting members of the public who wish to research local and family history

The Friends of Berwick and District Museum and Archives support, and promote use by the public of Berwick Art Gallery and Museum and Berwick Record Office. This is achieved through several means. Local history and the work of the Record Office and Museum is promoted via a website and annual lectures; volunteers contribute to projects, help at events, and raise funds to support our aims.

Harrogate International Partnerships has been established to help rekindle and revitalise the existing town twinning links for Harrogate, and be open to the possibility of establishing new links.We exist to advance the education, for the public benefit, of the people of the Harrogate district in the history, culture and languages of countries outside the United Kingdom.

The heritage and conservation of the ancient county of Rutland

Creation of a docklands trail exhibiting the history and activity of the north Liverpool and Bootle docks, to educate and improve the aspiration of the youth of adjacent communities. To provide a unique tourist attraction to benefit the local economy and help in the regeneration of the adjacent areas.Managing the project to provide work experience for local youth and permanent employment.

To advance the education of the public in the history and heritage of the North Shields fishing industry and the lives of those who worked in it, in such ways as the charity trustees think fit.
