The objects are, for the public benefit, to obtain and preserve the heritage of, and any objects, information or data ofhistorical interest relevant to; Alvis, the Alvis company or related personalities of any era; and/or promote the studyand appreciation of the history and heritage of Alvis products as items of historical interest.

The Society exists to carry out and promote research into the local history of Ilkeston and District, and for arranging meetings, events and publications for our members and for the general public.

Based in its Community Hub, the Torpoint Archives & Heritage Centre provides the opportunity for community members & others to research the history of the town & neighbourhood through photographs, documents, displays of artefacts & family histories. Presentations are given to local groups. Facebook & email provide a platform for further promotion, information exchange & discussion.

The Society organises an annual programme of lectures (October to April) on local history and archaeology as well as excursions for members during the summer to sites of historical interest. The Society undertakes research and publishes historical books and periodicals. Its archives contain a wider range of material (e.g., maps, letters, photographs, taped interviews).

Tonbridge Civic Society's main interest is in the care for the beauty, history and character of Tonbridge and its vicinity. It keeps a record of listed and important buildings. It maintains contact with the local Council to maintain high standards of architecture and town planning. It presents awards for high standards of design, promotes footpaths and cycleways. It publishes a regular newsletter.

We run several self help groups for semi and retired people such as bowls, history, book club, card games etc

The objects of the Friends are the education of the public in the history of the area of the London borough of Hackney

Our activities at present are transcribing gravestones, then recording on cd's for sale to members. Monthly meetings with speakers on family history subjects and visits to local historical places. We also open our premises every Monday for 2 hours where members can research and get advice and help if needed. To promote ourselves more widely, we attend local shows whenever possible.

To raise funds for the repair and restoration to the fabric of the 12th century parish church. All funds are given at the discretion of the trustees for particular projects following a request by the Fabric Committee of the PCC. The trustees work within the parameters set by the constitution. Fund raising activities are aimed at including all parishioners to add to community life.
