We have come together to revive the memory of, and spread the word about our very own and nationally very significant suffragist Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy who lived in Congleton from 1867 until her death in 1918. Our vision is to ensure that her place in history is known locally, nationally and internationally, and in particular, to create a lasting memorial to her in the town.

Advancement of the arts and music in and around Windsor, the preservation, restoration and maintenance of items of architectural/historical significance in and around Windsor and other charitable purposes in and around Windsor including making grants to The Outdoor Trust to maintain/operate its walkways in Windsor.

The objects of the CIO are to advance the education of the public in the history of the railway locomotive and general transport heritage of the United Kingdom, with focus on the history of Tyneside locomotive builders with their contribution to the railway industry and industrial development of the North East of England. Primarily through demonstrations of restored steam locomotives.

We meet monthly from October to April on the first Thursday at 8.15pm when our aim is to promote, encourage & co-ordinate research into the history of the Eden Valley by means of talks & discussion. In summer we enjoy a guided footpath walk & a day & evening outing to places of historical interest. We publish two newsletters annually & occasionally booklets devoted to local history.

Advancement of education in local history with particular reference to the London Borough of Lewisham

Promote the study of world wide archaeology, local history and the related arts and sciences in Solihull area through lectures, visits and excavations.

To provide and maintain a local history museum in Castle Donington, Leicestershire. To catalogue, conserve and present the collection in line with accredited museum standards. To mount exhibitions annually reflecting the history of the community. To provide a service to the all public with an interest in Castle Donington history incuding local schools and other organisations.

Supplies speakers and research help to schools, presents monthly displays and lectures, holds an annual exhibition, collects and researches information and material on local area. Produces publications on related topics. Co-operates with local authority on conservation areas and preservation of the built and natural environment.

Encourage and enable, through educational programs, the monitoring, recording, advocacy, and protection of Rutland's natural history and biodiversity. Encourage the public to engage with and understand Rutland's natural history.

We record, onto CDs or memory sticks, audio versions of our local newspaper The Gazette and other local interest recordings and distribute them in the surrounding district to blind or partially sighted listeners and those whose incapacity makes reading a strain. We also produce quarterly magazine recordings and are starting to produce local audio history recordings too. Run by volunteers

Advance education of public and undertake research on the history of Highworth and surrounding areas and publish the results of the research.

The creation and operation of a free entry Museum for Watton displaying both civilian and military artifacts together with video, digital records and documents about the history of the town and surrounding area.

Our aim is to promote civic pride in Malmesbury by conserving its built environment, recording its history and maintaining the Riverwalk and Jubilee Garden. We co-operate with the Planning Authority to ensure policies are appropriate for the town and scrutinise & comment on planning applications.
