To tell the public about the history and current activites of the peace movemement and to support the creation of a national peace museum

To advance the public education in the history and culture of Abergavenny and surrounding area in particular by supporting Abergavenny Museum and Castle. Projects include our blue plaques trail, guided walks, town centre street survey, oral history, publication of books and a DVD. We organise lectures and visits programmes, give talks and give grants to local school children and students.

The promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public in studying decorative and fine arts and related visits to galleries and other arts venues. Interest in preserving our heritage in the conservation and cataloging of archives. Education of the public in Trails of Discovery at local churches. Funding of Young Arts activities in local schools.

Support development of museum and public awareness of heritage

Promoting, supporting, assisting and improving the Museum of Winchelsea; maintaining and preserving or assisting in the maintenance and preservation of the Ancient Monuments of the town.

The establishment and maintenance of an arts centre and museum for the benefit of the inhabitants of the beneficial area and visitors thereto.

We provide studios and gallery for practicing artists at Middlesbrough in a heritage site building. We aim to advance the education of the public in all forms of art via individual and group exhibitions, talks, seminars open studio events, exhibitions, residencies and internships. We network with other organisations and individuals to encourage arts development in the Tees Valley.

The Friends was established to support and assist the Museum and to promote its use and enjoyment by the public in co-operation with its Trustees and Director. The Friends receive funds by donations, legacies and fund raising events. All funds may only be used for making grants to the Museum and for the proper expenses of administering the Friends.

To protect, update and repair for the future the property of the Queens Royal Hussars Collection, and to maintain and run three museums to display it.

The aim of the organisation is to operate a museum and archive, for the benefit of all, but particularly the local population, incoming tourists and all those with an interest in the area. The focus of the organisation is and will be the history of Swanage and its environs.

EXHIBITIONS

To encourage, promote and educate the public in the fine arts through its support of the Fitzwilliam Museum.

The purpose of the museum is to maintain a base for the public benefit for the exhibition of local antiques and other objects of interest for the benefit and use of the inhabitants of and visitors to Billericay and the surrounding area. The museum's aim is to foster within the community an appreciation and understanding of local history and the town's heritage.

The Friends of Norwich Museums has been set up to help & support the Norwich Museums to aquire, via gifting or purchasing for their collections objects of intrinsic historic & artisitc value, and thus improve the display of such exhibits the charity arranges various fund raising & encourages donations in order to be able to provide for grants & purchases of such items.

Scouting, including camps, trips & outings to local museums etc. & sports events within the group & in the district

Woolpit Institute hires out meeting rooms and kitchen facilities for community groups such as the Parish Council, special interest clubs, after-school activities, table tennis and classes. A luncheon club provides meals for the elderly. Fund raising events such as coffee mornings are held. The rooms may be hired for private functions. The local museum is housed within the institute building.

Provision of a Mining Museum

Provide a variety of activities, workshops, day trips for children and young people who have Autism. Have themed parties and craft workshops, visit museums etc to aid the education for our group members. Day trips in and out of Cumbria as some members have never been out of Cumbria, this helps give experiences of what other things are available for families with children on the Autistic Spectrum.

Promotion and advancement of the arts through a programme of Talks, Outings, volunteering, recording local artefacts, and financial support of the arts in local schools and other organisations. In furtherance of this purpose the Society shall have power to arrange lectures and organise appropriate activities including visits to houses, collections, museums and other places of relevant interest.
