We are trustees of a collection of paintings by local artist Lucy Kemp-Welch. The pictures are now on loan to the local museum ( after being in store) and small contributions pay for any maintenance and insurance as required.

CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW AS MUSEUM HAS CLOSED DUE TO END OF LEASE ON BUILDING.SOME OF THE COLLECTION CURRENTLY IN STORAGE AND ALSO ON DISPLAY IN ST ANDREWS CHURCH CASTLE COMBE WILTSHIRE. PLANS TO OPEN A FULL MUSEUM AREA IN THE FUTURE IN ST ANDREWS CHURCH HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY DELAYED DUE TO COVID19, BUT ARE STILL THE PLAN FOR THE MUSEUM IN THE FUTURE AND TO USE ARTEFACTS AND TO BE DISPLAYED

Museum Collection

The charity owns the Whistable Museum building and some of the museum collections which are used by the public.

To maintain, manage and enhance the museum's collection of artefacts and library resources in accordance with its collections management policy and to make these resources accessible to researchers and the general public. To provide a modern museum with an industrial focus.

Public Museum

The Overlord Embroidery Trust monitors the condition and display of the Overlord Embroidery, which is held at the D Day Museum in the care of Portsmouth City Council

The Trust is responsible for the Barlow Collection of Chinese Ceramics, Bronzes and Jades which is one of the most significant of its kind in the world. It is housed at the Ashmolean Museum and is regularly open to the public, with about twenty per cent of its total of 450 objects on display at any one time. The Collection has been deposited primarily for use in teaching.

The Amberley Museum Trust holds the exhibits and artefacts displayed and stored at a separate charity, Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, which operates an industrial museum at Amberley near Arundel in West Sussex. The Amberley Museum Trust does not trade.

The Laing Art Gallery was founded in 1901 by Alexander Laing. The present site of the Gallery was suggested in 1899 and the following year Alexander Laing offered --£20,000 to the local council, which unanimously accepted his generous donation. The Laing in now managed on behalf of Newcastle City Council by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
