Leisure Charities That specialise in Gardening

We finance and organise activities to help maintain and improve Towneley Park, and which will encourage more people to visit and enjoy the park. We have a gardening club; craft club; bird feeding programme; mobility scooters on loan; himalayan balsam picking projects with school children; and 6 special events. We have had a play area built and had benches installed across the park.

Edible Rotherhithe is a food growing project that works with schools and community settings in the London Borough of Southwark to offer food growing, gardening, horticulture, arts and crafts, printmaking, poetry, DIY and architecture design tuition for local children, young people and adults through structured after school clubs and workshops.

YUYO supports Yurie Yoshimi Primary School, Waikiso Uganda. It provides education to all, including those impacted by disability, HIV/AIDS.Children are taught life skills including cultivation and working with livestock. The long-term goal for Yurie Yoshimi is self-sustainability.In 2013 YUYO started supporting New Eden School and in 2017 it started supporting Canaan School

Provide winter and summer plantings, including hanging baskets, for floral displays around the town in public places. Work with local schools, town and district councils to promote horticulture and involve them in local and regional floral competitions. Year round working parties maintaining the town in a clean and tidy state. Year round fund-raising events to cover costs of above activities.

To advance the education of the public in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry in particular but not exclusively by the provision of a an annual show, demonstrations and competitions.

The Village Hall serves the local community. The regular users of the hall are a Pre School, Girl Guiding, Womens Institute, Parish Council, Horticultural Society and several classes of yoga and dance.

The Village Hall is hired out to the local and wider communicty for private functions and also for community activites (WI, Keep Fit, Gardening Club, Dancing, Yoga, Parish Council Meetings, Mums and Tots, Short Mat Bowls to name a few)

We have a programme that is wide and varied provided by 29 interest groups. It ranges from history, classical music, antiques and collectibles, bowls, bridge, soft tennis, gardening, theatre visits, walking and wine appreciation, the latter activity boasts three separate groups which says as much about conviviality as oenology! We cater for 258 members.

We have a range of activities available such as rainbows, brownies, St. John Ambulance, Gardening Club, afternoon plus (social group for the young at heart), Boogie Bounce, Keep Fit, Zumba, tap dance, Stay and Play, Coffee Shop and we also hire out our premises for parties or social events.

The Charity's purpose is to own and manage Warmington Village Hall in Trust on behalf of and for the benefit the community of Warmington and its surrounds . The Besom in Cambridge is a charity operating in the city of Cambridge, enabling members of local churches to give time, money, skills or things to those in need within the city. We pass on donated household items, furniture etc., as well as organising decorating or gardening projects for those who would not otherwise be able to afford these services.

To promote and practice horticultural activities at a greenhouse in Alexandra Park (Hastings) and further restore the structure to bring it back to full use for the benefit of the community. The greenhouse is available to the community, to use the practice of horticulture as a route to mental and physical well-being, through a combination of hands on experience, education and social exchange.

Promoting the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment through the development and maintenance of a community garden based on sustainable horticultural practices and the promotion of biodiversity.Providing informal and formal teaching opportunities for learning about horticulture, conservation, woodworking, beekeeping and related subjects.

The aim of the Trust is to give financial assistance to keen young horticulturists, and those new to horticulture, enabling them to further their knowledge of plants in the wild, or in gardens. This study could take any of the following forms - photography, painting, written observations, seed collecting or help with conservation projects, especially involving garden plants.

To provide facilities for healthy recreation (particularly gardening and horticulture) and leisure-time pursuits in the interest of social welfare for the inhabitants of Fleetwood and surrounding areas who have need of such facilities by reason of their infirmity or disablement, youth, age, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

With regard to public benefit requirement the object of our charity is to provide and maintain a village hall for the use of the parish inhabitants. During the past year we have hosted our annual art show, antiques roadshow, private parties, dances, quiz nights, horticultural shows, amateur dramatic productions, dance an exercise classes, short mat bowls, badminton and as a polling station.

The charity is concerned with environmental issues such as climate change , its consequences and what we can do about them. We aim to raise awareness and encourage practical action through community education activities. in three parts: Personal development, practical skills training, and community education on climate change. We lease a 6 acre site in Murton to demonstrate no-dig horticulture.

To redesign and restore the Walled Garden at Llanfrechfa Grange as a recreational, leisure time and therapeutic horticulture resource for the benefit of the public at large and for health and social care staff and service users in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of those using the garden.

Playgroup, Belton Gardening Club, Pilates, community activities, Charnwood Voices (choir) Parish Council Meetings and private hires for children's parties and adult functions.

The cultivation of the Arts and Musical Drama and the encouragement of public appreciation of these Arts.
