The improvement, enhancement and major refurbishment of Manchester Cathedral, its fabric and grounds and the provision of new facilities and equipment of general benefit to Manchester Cathedral and the community served by Manchester Cathedral.

The purpose of the Charity is to advance the Christian faith in our local communities in accordance with the principles and practices of the Methodist and United Reformed Churches. The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and, in particular, the guidelines on charities for the advancement of religion.

We provide grants to help towards the preservation, repair and maintenance of the church fabric. Applications are administered by the local archdeaconaries. Trustees and Deanery Reps meet half-yearly to award grants. Funds are raised from investment income, private donations, bequests, church donations, "Ride & Stride" and "Friends of Wiltshire Churches" membership and fund raising.

The Registered Charity is a Methodist Church and undertakes a number of Community based projects, serving the needs of local people. This includes a specific project entitled "Our Confident Community" and this provides outreach work to assist people of all ages, both on the premises and in the locality.
