The Chapel is a non-denominational, non-conformist protestant place of worship, meeting for services twice on Sundays.There are mid-week prayer meetings, Alpha groups and Toddler church. The Chapel is also rented out for other village activities such as choir practices.

The church arranges services, predominantly at it's registered premises, for the purposes of praise, worship and preaching. Other activities include study, teaching and social events. The church promotes the advancement of the Christian faith, in accordance with the Statement of Beliefs and facilitates the collection and disbursement of charitable donations by it's members to charitable causes.

The charity's objects are the relief of poverty in particular but not exclusively amongst the homeless by providing a refundable deposit to landlords to secure accommodation or to or for such other charitable purpose, institution, society or object as the trustees shall from time to time direct.

The Charity runs activities for the benefit of the public, through the holding of prayer meetings, services, lectures, public celebration and community events.

The charity supports the development of local volunteer groups to support the community of New Houghton via the Hub's building at 7a Rotherham Road. Typical volunteer led activities include mother and toddler groups to community cafe sessions. GAF continues to maintain and restore Greyladyes Chapel, renamed GAF Centre, and uses it as a heritage, arts and performance space for the benefit of the local and wider community.
