OUR CHARITY'S MAIN ACTIVITY IS THE OPERATION OF TURKISH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AND KOTKU MOSQUE IN NEWCASTLE.ACTIVITIES RUN IN THE CENTRE PROMOTES EDUCATION AND PROVIDES LEISURE FACILITIES. ADDITIONAL EVENTS ARE HELD TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT THE MUSLIM FAITH.

We are holding classes for adults to read and write Arabic correctly for sisters? and Men. We have a library where people can come and get books as well as listen to Islamic bayan.We are currently distributing leaflets and booklets to Non- Muslims in the area, as well as distributing Islamic literature door to door. We have lectures and talks from well known scholars and Imams; local and overseas.

The Council of Mosques works primarily as a conduit of communication between the Muslim community in Tower Hamlets and the Local Authority is central.Currently, the Council of Mosques offers three main areas of service provision: 1. Capacity building and training programmes for its members and affiliates2. Consultation and advocacy on local issues3. Community cohesion activities

The provision of a free burial service to the local community and the surrounding areas which includes but not limited to:- Provision of facilities and services for the washing, transportation, and the burial of the deceased - Provision of advice, support and assistance in relation to the procedures and practices relating to the burial of the deceased.

Education/Training - the centre organises religious courses and provides training for GSCE standard Islamic Study courses.Relief of Poverty - the centre raises funds for the poor and needy, for example, Ramadan Relief for the orphans.Sport/recreation - the centre organises sport activities like inter-community football tournaments.
