Responsible for the smooth running of Church affairs

To encourage and strengthen Christian belief and participation in activities related to that, and to provide resources to groups and individuals.

We provide regular services for worship, children's activities (pre-school group & Sunday school) & regular social groups (Mothers' union, choir, bell ringers, prayer & bible study etc). We host exhibitions & concerts and provide light refreshments for visitors. We support the church overseas, a parish in Palestine & a school in Zimbabwe as well as some diocesan initiatives.

The activities encompass those normally associated with those of a church in the Church of England. In addition, St Oswald's derives income from its Parochial Hall, through a parish magazine - Sowerby Now - in association with the Methodist Church and through a luncheon club for the elderly.

The Parochial Church Council of St Mary the Virgin, Woodbridge, has the responsibility of co-operating with the minister in promoting the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. It also has the responsibly to manage and maintain a Grade 1 Listed 15th Century church premises for the benefit of the parishioners and the wider community.

Activities include a variety of Christian acts of worship, work with children and young people, community events and activities which promote the ongoing discipleship of the Christians of the Parish.

All activities relate to the life and ministry of the Anglican church.

The Charity manages the day to day running of St Andrew's church, Oakington (church of England) as well as pastoral care, outreach, and mission.
