The Parochial Church Council of St Marys Church is responsible for the upkeep and running of our parish church, vicarage and church hall. Three services are held on a Sunday and one midweek. There is a programme of instruction for children between 3 and 15 years old. Comfort and support is administered to the needy and the sick by clergy and members of the church where necessary.

In order to achieve our objectives we provide a number of public worship services to which all are welcome. We provide a programme of Christian teaching for children and young people. We provide a number of social events to which members of the both the church community and the local community are welcome, such as a Thursday morning Coffee and Cake morning and a Tuesday Lunchclub.

The PCC has the responsibility of cooperating with the incumbent, in promoting the ecclesiastical parish, the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. The PCC is also specifically responsible for the maintenance of the Church of the Ascension and St Martin's Westgate Community Centre complex.
