THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF BEREAVED WIDOWS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS IN THE UK, NIGERIA AND GHANA FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) PROVIDING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, SERVICES AND ITEMS TO SUPPORT ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED WIDOWS; B) OFFERING EMOTIONAL AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO WIDOWS IN THE GRIEVING PROCESS AND TO SUPPORT THEIR READJUSTMENT

To maintain the Heath for the benefit of the Bawdeswell villagers and surrounding areas.In former times the Charity was set up to provide coal for old people in need. This is no longer required and so in lieu the Trustees now give a small Grant of cash to residents of the village who have suffered bereavement.

GRANTS TO INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS OF THE RAOB FOR NECESSITOUS PURPOSES. DEATH GRANTS TO BEREAVED FAMILIES TO ASSIST WITH FUNERAL EXPENSES. CONVALESCENT GRANTS FOR MEMBERS GOING ON CONVALESCENT STAY AT THE RAOB CONVALESCENT HOMES. BENEVOLENT FUND IS AVAILABLE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE RAOB MERSEY PROVINCE WHO ARE IN FULL FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE. THE FUND ALSO ASSISTS WIDOWS IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES.

Distribution of income by way of financial or goods donations or loans to those who are in need of assistance and who are deemed as complying with the Charity's rules by the Trustees. These cover people of all ages living in the Parish of Cockfield in financial hardship, the medically unfit, the unemployed, people in education, the bereaved and those affected by crime or anti social behaviour.

To offer emotional support to families who have lost a baby or child.

Small donations within our budget are given annually to people deemed to be in need or have encountered difficult problems eg: bereavement, illness or poverty. In most cases these donations are given in cash so that the person concerned can utilise the gift in our village shop thus not necessitating travelling some distance by public transport (minimum return of 14 miles).

This trust is for the support of 'orphaned children in need' by means of small monetary grants. The children should be under the age of twenty-one and bereaved of one or both parents. Generally they will be children in full time education and grants are given particularly to support educational needs or more basic requirements such as clothing costs,
