Bowls is enjoyed by both sexes encompassing all age groups and is available to people with disabilities. Equipment and tuition is available to learners and recruitment is concentrated on the 8 to 18 age group. Younger players learn the discipline of being a team player and all members can participate in county and national competitions. Members also use the pavilion for social activities.

Core fund raising has mainly been based on social activities - discos, treasure hunt and a quiz night . These have been coupled with Christmas and Easter raffles and the end of year balloon race, together with nearly new uniform sales and selling of the school book bags.

We hold monthly meetings with a speaker, refreshments and plenty of interaction between our committee and members. We run many different groups with a view to education and friendship. At least ten outings are arranged each year to places of interest and one of our main aims is to provide a friendly meeting place for the local community.

The Association manages a community centre providing many and varied activities for people of all ages and disabilities in the local community in the promotion of health and fitness, art and crafts, and social events including general charitable purposes.

Use of Crookham Village Hall to provide social events for the inhabitants of Crookham and surrounding areas. These include village evenings, evening meals, coffee mornings and lunches, and use of the Hall as a venue for society meetings, including an Art Club, Book Club, Gardeners' Club, Knit & Natter, and local history and archaeology (TillVAS). The hall is available for private hire.

The South West Dorset Multicultural Network was set up to establish links across West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland to provide support, information and cultural understanding. We produce a newsletter & arrange a number of social events.The SWDMCN is represented on various strategic steering groups to promote racial harmony & diversity & reduce isolation faced by people from ethnic minorities.

We cover a wide geographical area in which we fundraise and serve our communities. We raise money through a variety of methods such as sponsored and social events. We serve those in need in whatever ways we can and this includes local, national and international projects such as Romanian Pride, an annual visit to children's homes to 'give children a childhood'.
