The education of the public by support for, assistance and promotion of The National Museum of the Royal Navy (Portsmouth) and HMS Victory through activities of the friends.

Yeomanry Regimental Collection

Responsible for historic collections, exhibitions, events and enquiry services relating to the history of the York and Lancaster Regiment and its forbears.

Upholding the tradition of the Green Howards through the running of a museum.

The charity makes small "first aid" grants and offers advice to former members of her Majesty's Royal Air Forces who were prisoners of war and their widows and dependents. The charity makes small donations to other charities who share the objects of the Royal Air Forces ex-Prisoners of War Association.

THE COLLECTION, CONSERVATION AND PUBLIC DISPLAY OF ALL ITEMS OF HISTORICAL AND MILITARY INTEREST RELATING TO THE DUKE OF LANCASTER'S OWN YEOMANRY AND OTHER VOLUNTARY CAVALRY UNITS IN LANCASHIRE AND ADJACENT AREAS. THE PHYSICAL COLLECTION IS CURRENTLY (SPRING 2023) IN STORAGE, THE TRUSTEES ARE IN THE PROCESS OF ESTABLISHING THE COLLECTION IN LANCASTER CASTLE. THIS IS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW JULY25 .

Regimental Collection

Provide training to young people in the Maidenhead, Taplow & Burnham area based on the principals of the Royal Navy. Subjects covered include rowing, canoeing, cookery, mechanical & electrical engineering, communications, various sports and many competitions.

For the restoration and conservation of TS Foudroyant (now renamed HMS Trincomalee), for the public's education and enjoyment.

We support British children of Merchant Navy personnel by assessing their family circumstances and educational needs and providing help accordingly. Each applicant has unique problems and is treated individually. We can help at all educational stages, including University, and also for career and personal development training.

The ARNO Charitable Trust has a single Corporate Trustee, the Royal Naval Benevolent Society for Officers, which provides financial support to serving and retired officers of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRNS, their Reserves, spouses, former spouses, families and dependents who are in financial distress.

The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the Regimental Memorial and the grounds are used only for the purpose in which they were given. They have no financial responsibility, as that lies with the Trustees of The Mercian Regiment. The Trustees have approved the resurfacing of the footpath to the Tower with an anti-slip material.

Majority of our activities up to 2014 are contained within the Freemasonary activities but included isThe Gurka's ,the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Dorset Masonic Care, Zetland Court residential home and the Province of Dorset 1014 Festival which is to raise ?1 million towards dependant organisations and world wide support during catastrophe's

Supporting past and present members of the Association and their families. Supports other Regimental affiliated charities when required. Make grants to individuals and organisations as and where the requirement exists.

Meetings for members and welfare support for RAF associated people in area

We are a Royal Naval Association Branch supporting ex ROYAL NAVY, R.N.R. & RNXS personnel and their families etc we are supporting local and national seafaring charities, we are registered and governed by the Royal Naval Association's Royal Charter. We host visits from RNA Branches, Army and RAF Regiment get togethers in our 'Tri Service Mess' member & community events

The charity helps all RNA members, it also helps any ex Royal Naval personnel should the need arise, if the need arises.

Welfare and comradship

The Grantham Branch is committed to the raising of funds in the Grantham area for the welfare of ex RAF service personnel

HCVA undertakes mission and evangelism in the UK and overseas through outreach work, Christian meetings and conferences, television ministry, and practical aid to orphans and missionaries.

The Trust continued to fund raise for the Soroptimist International charities, with donations being made to the Salvation Army, BAWSO (Black African Women Step Out), and New Pathways.Recycling of jewellery and other items continues throughout the Wales South Region, The work to raise awareness of Trafficking is ongoing, a symposium, Combating Modern Slavery was held in early 2015.

To maintain and further develop the trust's scientific and educational work by chartering or acquiring a suitable HMS Beagle lookalike sailing ship to work with on an interim basis, while continuing to pursue the raising of funds for a new ship with inbuilt educational and research programmes to encourage aspirant scientists and strengthen interest in evolutionary history and scientific discovery
