Arts Charities That specialise in Choirs

The provision of scholarships to choristers (both boys and girls) admitted into Leicester Cathedral Choir, so as to help towards maintaining a high standard of music.

The Marchington Singers is an amateur mixed voice choir, of all ages and abilities, based in Staffordshire. It performs three concerts a year in the Staffordshire/Derbyshire area and, by invitation, sings at weddings and fund raising events. It has a Student Bursary Scheme for singers up to 25 years, to encourage young singers to both sing in the choir and perform solo parts in our concerts.

We Are the Voice Children's Environmental Choir sings for the trees, endangered species, oceans, climate, and children's futures. We write, record, perform, and represent environmental issues through the medium of song. ExeVox is an auditioned chamber choir of approximately 24 experienced singers, under the direction of a professional musician. It performs public concerts and recitals in Exeter and the SW of England, providing informative programme notes on the music performed. It raises charitable funds by singing at concerts and other events.

The choir provides an outlet for those who wish to sing at a high standard in a choir, and also improves their skills. It also provides the benefit of performances of music outside the usual choral repertoire for members of the public to enjoy. It also aims to make this music more accessible by gaining greater insight into the music e.g. via interviews with composers.

Antiphon is a small mixed chamber choir based near Hexham, Northumberland. It specialises in singing early Renaissance church music, often in the context of church services. Concerts are held in Northumberland and the choir has travelled to Italy, Belgium and France to sing in different settings.

Band & choir who rehearse weekly to enable our organisation to perform concerts to raise money for other charities. Develop social skills of young people through training & performance.

Annual Eisteddfod where adult, teenagers and children compete by singing, reciting and playing instruments.

To maintain a Community Choir in Clare, Suffolk and in addition to encourage and facilitate personal creativity and musical education through the shared experience of singing together.

The Friends of Crowdys Hill School hold regular fundraising events to enable them to make donations to the school to enhance the education of the pupils. Events have included Bingo, Quiz and Singing Evenings, a Summer Fete and Christmas Bazaar and non uniform days in school.

Furthering the religious work of the Collegiate Church of St Peter, Wolverhampton by assisting, maintaining and supporting its choral tradition and by assisting in the care and maintenance of its organ.

The foundation funds Choral Scholarships in the choir of St George?s Parish Church Beckenham. The charity was launched with a Gala Concert, two scholars were appointed for the first academic year and their funding secured, further funds were raised to support future scholarships, and capital fund-raising began with a successful application for a ?10,000 grant from the Friends of Cathedral Music.

Organising and providing musical activities for schools and young people with professional musiciansRunning an open access community choir including outreach work and performances

Bentley Community Choir meets weekly for rehearsals that are open to all and free to attend. We aim to promote the art of singing and to share our enjoyment of music with the local community.

The objectives are to advance the arts, in particular the art of the ancient tradition of the all-male choirs, in particular but not exclusively through the provision of grants and financial assistance to Cathedrals, Chapels Royal, Churches, University and College Chapels, other ecclesiastical choral foundations, schools and communities.

We perform charitable concerts for local senior citizens organisations/homes & religious organisations. We organise and perform biannual celebrity concerts bringing well known classical artists to the area for the entertainment and enjoyment of local residents and visitors.
