The Society promotes the study of labour history by: production of a journal, Labour History Review; holding and sponsoring conferences; bursaries for postgraduate speakers at such conferences; bursaries for (doctoral-level) research and BA/MA dissertations in labour history; grants for conferences and public events in labour history, especially if targeted at a wider audience.

Recently the association has continued to refurbish and redevelop the 1905 old post office to transform it into a new heritage and research centre. The association also continues to research local history topics, publish books, and hold popular slide shows, talks and social events to raise interest in local history and support the building project and the charities aims.

The charity's activities include the running of Girlguiding Dunstable Division, Windy Sayles (indoor residential, activity centre and campsite) and Windy Sayles shop (selling badges, books, uniform etc)

Friends of Woodbridge Library organise events and activities in accordance with our charitable objectives and raise funds in support of these objectives. Music, theatre and literature-based events are held throughout the year aimed at both adult and children in the local community.

We sell tickets and passes to local attractions, hold Summer and Christmas fetes, book fairs, children's discos, provide refreshments and hold Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day sales. All the money we raise goes towards paying for activities or buying equipment for the children at Blenheim Primary School and Nursery.

The British Association for the Study of Religions (BASR) promotes the study of the world's religions amongst interested scholars and students through its annual conference, a regular newsletter and publications such as the electronic journal DISKUS. It is affiliated internationally to both the IAHR and EASR.

Our Society embraces Battersea as a great place to live and work. We celebrate Battersea's past, support its present and promote its future. Working with Christian Churches in Mozambique and other African countries with missionary support, financial gifts, teaching, training and literature so that they can be effective in their local communities. We also work in the Mozambique state schools using multimedia technology to teach christian morals. This is at the invitation of the education authorities.

We aim provide a Village Hall within the community where each and every member of the surrounding area can socialise in a safe, comfortable and happy environment.

We publish a colourful 52 page magazine 'Faith Initiative:Embracing Diversity' addressing a variety of themes and issues relevant to people of faith. Contributors - writers, artists and poets - are from all walks of life and faith communities. 2,500 copies are distributed twice-yearly to schools, colleges, libraries, multi-faith chaplaincy centres, interfaith groups and religious communities.

We aim to give young children in the district the opportunity to extend their learning and reach their full potential by using appropriate toys and equipment borrowed at our library sessions. Indoor and outdoor stay and play provision is provided offering additional support for parents and carers and the opportunity for professionals to drop in on a regular basis.

The charity provides financial help to young people in the parish of Wye up to the age of 21 for purchase of books, equipment and general support for educational purposes or advancement. The charity can also support travel costs to attend university or other higher education establishments. The charity makes grants to Wye Primary School for things not provided by the local education authority.

We produce a weekly news on tape/cd/usb memory stick, for the visually impaired or others unable to read a newspaper. Also a bi- monthly magazine
