The Peninsula Education Programme (PEP) is a UK based charity that provides a free literacy programme to adults in the Peninsula of Freetown, Sierra Leone, who did not receive a formal education. Friends Of Birchfield School undertake a range of fundraising activities for the school in order to provide new books, equipment, playground facilities and contributions towards school trips, among many other things.FoBS aim to support the school and parents in the activities which make any child's school life more enriching.

The NATD is the subject association for teaching through Drama in the UK. It provides a voice for drama educators nationally, as well as those who use drama as a learning tool in other settings. The NATD publishes the Journal for Drama in Education, runs conferences and training events, offers grants to support professional development and produces resources to support drama educators.

Education of the healthcare professions and the public as to the value of and the need for human values in healthcare and the promotion of such values in the UK and elsewhere by means of research, publications, lectures, seminars, discussion forums,mentoring and financial support.

We run a small public junior library on the Old Dean Estate to support and encourage the literacy skills of local children.

The Village Hall is a centre for a variety of activities for all ages: fortnightly coffee mornings, regular social events such as quizzes, talks, bingo, teas, book club and craft club. The hall is the focus for the annual Fete, Harvest Supper, Macmillan Coffee Morning and Christmas events. The hall is used for Parish Council meetings, FGCT meetings, as a polling station and for our MP's surgery.

The object of the charity is the advancement of training, research and education of the public in the study of systematic biology. This is achieved primarily by sponsoring symposia, conferences and lectures, by publishing books, and by awarding grants for systematics research.

Supporting four local Schools named in the initial registration and young people under the age of 25 years needing financial assistance for scholarships, training, bursaries and allowances for education approved for the purpose of the Trustees. It also provides financial assistance for outfits, tools, instruments or books needed to enter a trade or profession.

The Society was founded sixty years ago in 1965 to promote understanding and friendship between the peoples of Britain and China. SACU - which has no political affiliations - plays a vital role in providing regular and reliable information about China and the Chinese people including through its publications and events.

FOSS raise funds to support the village school, subsidising school trips, purchasing equipment requested by the teachers and children, buying books, and enabling visits from various workshops and external groups. We arrange lots of fundraising activities, such as fetes, raffles, bingo, trails and quizzes that the school, families and local community can join in with.

The Society's objects are the practical study of archaeology, natural science, art, literature, history and kindred subjects as far as they pertain to Anglesey, also the preservation of historical documents, ancient monuments, rare birds and plants and objects of geological or other scientific interest in the Island, and to foster public interest in and appreciation of these subjects.

The Society organises an annual series of lectures, usually held in Leicester New Walk Museum, for the advancement of education in Literature, Science and the Arts. It publishes proceedings and supports the museum. Natural History and Geology Sections organise further events. The Society has close links with Leicester, De Montfort and Loughborough universities and Leicester City Council.

Radius welcomes those seeking to explore spiritual, social and ethical themes through drama. As a forum for discussion it encourages a relationship between theatre and faith within contemporary culture and promotes plays that throw light on the human condition. It offers scripts for performance, an assessment service for new plays, a series of study guides, a magazine and a programme of workshops.

Housed in a scheduled ancient monument C1760 Gunpowder Magazine, to preserve and to educate all ages, covering local and military history, working within schools curriculum, providing resources for research and working with like-minded groups.

The Fellowship exists to honour the memory of George Eliot, to encourage others to study her work, and to put on events which involve walks, tours, study, reading groups, visits to literary venues, publications, displays and exhibitions connected with increasing appreciation of the writer by members and the public in the Uk and beyond.

Managing the activities of Burbage Community Library

The association provide a public library service for residents in Low Fell and the surrounding area of Gateshead. Our activities include running a book lending service, providing access to Gateshead Council?s public access computers in the library, RhymeTime and other regular children?s activities, a monthly Book Group and a programme of speakers and events for the local community.

Friends of Rainow School raises funds to enhance the education of the young people in the school through purchasing equipment and books, and funding educational activities and experiences for the young people.
