Formerly Saffron Walden Town Library Society, provides support to The Gibson Library (formerly Saffron Walden Town Library), through a programme of lectures, events,and voluntary work in the Library. The Society manages book selection and oversees conservation of the Library's collection. The Society also provides financial support for special projects, and acts as a consultative body.

The Museum produces a range of displays. Some are long term, e.g. Railways, others are short term to show aspects of the collections held by the Museum. An education group provide a range of activities for local schools and societies.
